We had granite installed in our kitchen a few years back. I try to take really good care of them by using only plain water or a little Dawn. Once in a very great while, I will spray with Lysol All Purpose cleaner (like when there has been some really yucky stuff going on like meat). We re-seal them every year or so.
But lately they feel less than clean. Sort of a combination of greasy and dirty. I can feel it and it makes me crazy. I tried the granite cleaners in the spray bottle but they did nothing.
Any tried and true, amazing granite cleaning ideas?

I use hydrogen peroxide on mine. Pour a little on, wipe around with a paper towel, polish dry with a cloth. I also like Method granite cleaner from Target.

I make a home-made granite cleaner that is 1/4 cup rubbing alcohol to 16 oz water (plus some oil for scent). I'm not sure if it would work as well as you want if the regular granite cleaner isn't working though. I think you could increase the ratio of alcohol, or use the stronger alcohol (90% I think?) for the first cleaning. The alcohol cleaner is key for my counters though, regular multi-purpose cleaner leaves them streaky and feeling unclean.

Try using vinegar. I keep some in a small spray bottle to clean the greasy film on my glass cooktop.

Try using vinegar. I keep some in a small spray bottle to clean the greasy film on my glass cooktop. I thought that you could not use vinegar because it is acidic? Maybe I need to re-review my care instructions regular multi-purpose cleaner leaves them streaky and feeling unclean I think this may be my issue, even though I don't use it much. Sounds like I need to cut through the layer that has built up.

We use Method brand granite cleaner from Target.
Don't use vinegar. It will dull the shine.

I use soft scrub advanced care, recommended by our builderIt's a multi surface cleaner-you can use it on granite, marble, and stainless. It is a no rinse gel, but I do rinse. I apply with a microfiber cloth and rinse with a damp cloth. It works really well and my counters are shiny, no streaking.

I've been using Method Granite cleaner or Method All Purpose (pink grapefruit) on my granite and Silestone counters since day 1. After 3 years, they still look new.
