Oh my - my dh gave me my Christmas present early. A Nikon D7100. I have a Nikon D60 and took an hour one on one class with it. Didn't learn too much, but sufficient enough to get some nice shots in aperture mode. I would shoot in automatic most of the time on vacations, etc. He decided to get me a new camera because I broke my 18-55 lens and figured by the time he bought another one, etc. he could buy a package with a 18-140 mm lens I wanted.
This Nikon D7100 is so out of my league. I'm afraid it was a waste of money. I remember there being a tutorial on peas before. Help?

Take a deep breath and don't sweat it. Your new camera works just the same as your old one, only better. We've had tons of tutorials on the old board, depending on what you want to learn. So, what do you feel you need to know to get your money's worth out of the new camera? julieb

How to turn it on? lol
I am overwhelmed that the setting are different on this camera. I really have to look through the manual. My niece has the same camera and takes pictures professionally so I'm hoping she can help me out.
I want to take awesome pictures...that's all. Seriously though I would like to be able to take pictures indoor without them being yellow.

Yellow cast to the photo means it was taken under an incandescent light. The fix is to look in your owner's manual for how to change the white balance setting. You'll pick the icon of the incandescent (old fashioned bulb) and the camera will adjust for the fact the light in the room is too yellow. Or you can learn to set a custom white balance (takes less than a minute to do once you learn how)
