Did you watch the presentation on HSN? I know they won't give you the bad or ugly about it of course.

You have to be connected to the internet to use it, the software can go a bit wonky, when they update the software it can take them a while to work out the bugs. The software itself isn't really easy to use. I had the Gypsy and thought it would be a simple transfer.
You can use your carts, so that is nice. You can buy additional designs online so you don't have to buy a whole new cartridge with designs you won't use, I found customer service to be helpful, but others have said it is really hard to get a reply at times. It cuts small designs really well.
I have both the Silhouette and the Cricut Explore.

I bought the original Cricut when it made its debut on QVC in 2007. I didn't use it that much. I didn't always get a clean cut, found sizing a pain and getting images off the cutting pads was tricky. As the years went by, I abandoned it all together and didn't upgrade.
This year I saw some of the Close to My Heart cartridges and wanted to give it a try again so I bought the Air. I love it and use it all the time. I bought it this summer at Bed Bath & Beyond with an online 20% off coupon and free shipping.
I use it seamlessly with my iPad. I find the software intuitive and was off and running in no time.
My home computer is very old and the operating software doesn't support Cricut Design Space. I needed a computer to link my cartridges. My husband let me use his laptop and I couldn't get the software to load. I called Cricut support and they emailed me instructions. I was able to then get the software and it was a simple process to link my previously purchased cartridges.
The best part is that you set the dial to the material you are cutting and the machine does the rest. The cuts are very clean and lift right off the mat. I am now a big Cricut fan!

The ugly-if you don't have an Internet connection it is a very expensive door stop.

To add to that, they have had some computer compatability issues. Make sure your computer is compatible or it will be another reason for it to be an expensive doorstop, LOL.
