to one of those 90 minute sales speels? You know, the kind you take some kind of tour or whatever and then you're free to go.
I just think there has to be a catch but thought it might be worth looking into.

We were offered a free vacation for listening to a spiel. We never did take the free vacation but spent $6,000 for a vacation plan that never lived up to what was pitched.

Usually you have to pay "fees and taxes" - someone I know did this, wound up paying more for the "fees and taxes" than what the cruise would have cost, plus wound up with the tiniest inside cabin all the way in the front of the ship. Add to that the fact that they had to travel when there was "availability", not when they wanted to go. Not a good experience. Check your fine print.

aslo, the "tour and presentation" are usually a lot longer than 90 minutes - and involve HIGH pressure sales

Thanks for the feedback! I'll look at the fine print. I can handle high pressure sales pitches if its worth it.

We have stayed at resorts for 3-4 days for an incredible deal where we had to listen to a 90-minute spiel. Those vacations were always fabulous! But, when they want to give you something that you have to collect on ~ stay far, far away. I've read online that booking is a nightmare and what they promise isn't what you get.

We've had one weekend in Newport Beach for a timeshare deal - it was okay. We did pay for it, but nowhere near what accommodations in that area would have cost.
My old boss did the free vacation thing - or at least he was able to send off the certified/return-receipt, must be in the mailbox between the hours of 12 and 3 on a Tuesday or Thursday within a week thing. There were so many "rules" to actually being able to just book it - if your papers actually got there in time, then the dates they made you pre-choose had to be clear on their books and if not, do it all over again. His wife was the smartest thing at her work, but I tell ya, once you waved something that said "free", she got stupid. And the kicker was they had all these air miles and took free trips anyway! She fell for every scam out there. I even showed him online all the bad reports - nope, she had to "try"
