That was me on Saturday. Pissed off at the world...and everyone in it. I definitely know I'm stressed: 2 girls who are extremely busy plus a SO who travels a lot for work and can't always help with the driving.
Ugh! Hang in there. We'll get through it. Hugs!

Oh yes and still get that way at my age...old...
Talking here is helping me to handle some of it but there are times I could spit nails...

I finally saw my doctor about that kind of thing, and have been diagnosed with moderate depression and anxiety.

Yes. And I'll be slammed for this but... Depending on your age hormone supplements might help. I had to start them for a different reason and they are amazing for all the testy mood stress concerns. The benefit outweighs risk with my history.
If I'd known, I would have done them sooner.
(Your "spaced out" comment caught my attention. I'm normally laser focused, good memory , but was starting to look like my ADD family.)

When I am like that, it is hormonal. Either PMS or my thyroid condition is not optimally treated.

Oh that was definitely me yesterday. Everything DH did or said just rubbed on that one last raw nerve.
It started Saturday night when he came back from the store and proudly announced he had bought my favorite cookie. Not only did he buy a package of cookies I've never in 45yrs of marriage brought in this house but I had just remarked earlier that I needed to lay off the sweets, 3 extra lbs was making me feel like a bloated cow. It it just went downhill from there.

Yes and it's becoming more and more frequent, my moods are horrible. At 46 I'm thinking it's perimenopause related and it's not fun, my Mum actually asked me last week why I'm so mean all the time. I'm working on recognising when I'm in that mood and trying to conciously change how I feel. I'm stressed pretty much all the time but that's no excuse for behaving like a giant bitch

I am confused by the statement "I am 41, I do not think it is PMS." PMS can actually worsen in the perimenopausal years. It is common.
That said, after my ovaries were removed and I became menopausal, I no longer had days like that unless there was an identifiable cause (hunger, lack of sleep, etc). Those sorts of days completely disappeared once my hormones stopped changing.

At least once a month I have unexplainable anger or bad mood. I have an app that tracks my period and it also tracks symptoms if you remember to put those in. I tried that for a few months and found that these bad moods pop up a few days or so before my period starts. I pointed it out to dh and he said I already figured that out.
Stupid hormones.

I had a little fit of rage yesterday, because I was tired of hurting (canker sores).
It makes me really feel for people with chronic pain.
OP, That's scary about the left on red! Take care!

I have moments like this. I had a really bad day on Saturday. Then my period showed up early yesterday and it was like I had aha moment. That explained part of it.

When I am storming around angry at everyone, I will stop and count and yeah... PMS every time.

I have days like that, too-- Saturday was one of them... after thinking about it later, it was (mostly) fueled by not being able to find something I wanted while I was out shopping, driving way out of my way for nothing, and having a lot of stuff going wrong all at once.
I've been getting double-irritated with things, too, because I'm taking a new medication that *can* cause increased irritability, so whenever I'm annoyed about something my BF will jump right to "you seem more irritated than normal; are you sure that medication is safe?" which makes me even MORE annoyed!! He doesn't seem to remember that I would get annoyed about things PRIOR to taking the medication...

I think we all have days like that. One coworker will sometimes say "I'm getting on my *own* nerves!" I thi k that explains it pretty well.
