effective, that you just cant stand them any longer! LOL Donald Sutherland is so creepy as President Snow in Hunger Games, I get creeped out from his voice over in the Orange Juice commercial he does. Who has made you think differently of them just from a role they play/played?

Mine is Angelina Jolie. She played dirty skanky girl in Gone in 60 Seconds that I just can't get over it. Even now that she is a superstar / adoptive mother / ambassador I still think of her as a dirty skank that kisses her brother and wears a vial of her lovers blood around her neck. Ick.

oooh, Alan Rickman is a good one. I can only ever picture him as a bad guy because he does such a great job as one. (Why a spoon? Because it will hurt more.) I just could not fall behind him as the love interest in Sense and Sensibility. In the back of my mind he was going to gut Marianne with a spoon and then report her to Voldemort.

In your defense, Angelina was pretty skanky when she was starting out. She and Billy Bob Thornton were disgusting when they were together. Fortunately, she got herself together and grew up. She's definitely turned into one of the classiest, most glamorous women in Hollywood.

Ted Danson in Something About Amelia! He has given me the creeps ever since! I remember that movie! George C Scott in Firestarter. The way he describes how he's going to kill Drew Barrymore. Nope. I often wonder if Patrick Bergen hadn't played Julia Roberts' stalker husband would he have had a better career? I'll bet a lot of people couldn't get past that one. Same w/Billy Campbell after Enough.

Dwight Yoakam in Sling Blade. Now when I see him I automatically think of him as a creep. Doesn't help that he is playing a creepy guy in Under the Dome.

As much as I adore Mark Harmon (and I do, I have an unseemly crush on him) it took me a long time to get over his playing Ted Bundy in one of those made for tv movies.
Ted Bundy was my childhood boogie man. He was the one who blew through my town and caused all kinds of horror and it was due to him that my mom started locking doors and windows.
So for many years it was hard for me to separate in my mind Mark Harmon/Ted Bundy.

Pablo Schreiber, or Pornstache from Orange is the New Black. But it is his character William Lewis from Law & Order : Special Victims Unit that really gives me the creeps! Chills!

Yeah he's been a creeper in many shows, it's weird to see him in his 'music' ways! lol... I guess that is called talent! Funny when I was watching Under the Dome last week and didn't see his name pop up anywhere, as soon as he was on screen, I was like 'oh no that's Dwight' he's a creeper again!

Bruce Dern. He shoot and killed John Wayne in "The Cowboys" ! I saw an interview with Bruce Dern and he said John Wayne told him to be prepared for America to hate him. He was surprised when the Duke was right!

Pornstache is who I was going to say. I didn't even see him in Law & Order SVU, he is such an awful guy in OITNB, that alone does it for me.

For me it's Jeff Daniels-He will always be Flap to me. He did a very good job of making you hate him for being the cheating husband of a dying cancer patient. I haven't watched anything else he's been in since Terms of Endearment.
On the flip side of this coin, I remember when I first started watching "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" that I was never going to be able to get into the movie because it had Davy Jones (Bill Nighy) and Professor McGonagall (Maggie Smith) in it!! LOL However within about 15 minutes I was so completely charmed by the movie I forgot they were anything other than Douglas and Muriel.

Anthony Hopkins will always be Hannibal Lecter. Have you tried watching "Remains of the Day"? That might help...he did really nail the character of Hannibal. Fava beans and nice chianti-shudder.

Oh! And I've always had a HUGE crush on Tony Goldwyn but never talked about it because he was always the bad guy that killed Patrick Swayze in "Ghost."
Now that he is President Fitzgerald on "Scandal" I can come out of the crush closet! LOL

You all know who John Cusack is right? He's been in so many films and he's usually the goofy guy, the loveable guy, heck he's in one of my favorite 80's films where's he's holding up the huge boom box outside the girl's window that he loves in "Say Anything". Anyway, I watched an amazing film on Nexflix the other night with Nicholas Cage as a detective and John Cusack (loveable, good guy John Cusack) as a serial killer. A really creepy one too in Alaska! Miles and miles away from his normal character placement. Based on a true story. It was called "Frozen Ground". He did an amazing job and at the end he even creeped me out.

I have a real problem with this. Not only will a character ruin an actor or actress for me, so will their personal life. It drives my DH batty. It's not fair, but if they've done something I can't abide, like abuse, I just can't let it go and separate the reality from the character they are playing (I also don't want them to make money off me so I avoid them).
I also always wonder when an actor plays the same douchy or creepy role over and over if it's because they were typecast or if that's really their personality and not acting at all.

There has been plenty but the one that stands out in my mind right now is Lorraine Toussaint in Orange is the new black. I think she is an awesome actress but after seeing her in Orange is the new black I will never see her the same again. She was a total ruthless mean bitch in that show. I really like her in shows that she plays the good gal in.....

I agree with OP too; Donald Sutherland is wicked as President Snow.
