What do you ladies think about this months kit? I like the style as always but not a huge fan of this one. I'm kinda stumped, no stories come to mind. Maybe it's just me?

I agree; this has been my least favorite kit.

I really like the kit, but I also miss the chipboard pieces - they're my favourites! I love the idea of the circles but wish the words were a little more generic. Yesterday/Today Past/present Then/Now are all basically the same thing. I would love these circles with words like: GO! Yes! Love this! What? Fun stuff like that, although I know that the words were picked based on a specific theme, an I totally respect that too. The colour scheme is great - very Ali Edwards - and those cork hearts are cute too!

i must say that i do not like the patch! sigh. that is just me being fussy. i can think of ways to use the theme: comparing myself today with how i was when i was younger; comparing my son to how i was at his age; thinking about how my tastes have changed in terms of books i read, crafts i make, my first car (!) vs. the car i drive now, the way things have changed at the cottage, that sort of thing. not sure what i will do but i am hoping to really (REALLY) explore the story kits this coming year as a way of journalling about my life. oh, and, saralovesducks you could make some stories about your wedding plans versus those of your parents and/or grandparents?

This one really reminds me of Ali's class that she taught at BPC a while ago - Yesterday & Today. I might use this kit to finish the lessons that I never did from that class.

Maybe it's just me? saralovesducks wouldn't this be perfect for your upcoming nuptials? Or just the story of how your life is going to change from being single your "old" life to being married your "new" life? (And Congratulations btw!)

I am not a fan of the patch and the colors are pretty blah for me. But I like the theme.

I REALLY love the colours, but am also missing the chipboard pieces! They are so versatile. Hopefully this is a one off... I'm not feeling super inspired by the theme, but I haven't watched any of the videos in the classroom yet... usually that sparks a few story ideas at least

I'm liking the theme quite a bit though it does look a little lighter to me. It seems like we used to get more cards? I could be wrong.

I like the colors, but have no idea how I am going to use it. I am also a little stumped why they give us a little floss, I consider that like pen ink and I will use my own.

Usual number of cards is 6 3x4s and 4 6x4s so it's the same amount of cards. However the kit does look thin compared to Cheer, for example.

I'm wondering if they do alternating months, some heavier on product and other lighter?

needtime2scrap Could be. Looking back through the kits there seem to be ones that are 'lighter', but then heavier ones as well. As long as it all evens out in the end, I'm fine with that. I just hope we still get chipboard pieces in future kits. ETA: I mean the 'sheet' of chipboard pieces. I realize we get chipboard circles, but I find the sheet much more versatile!

This is my least favorite kit as well. I dislike comparison as a mode of storytelling in general (AM/PM, His/Her, etc.) I have trouble with those. And I also dislike the patch and the cork shapes and miss the chipboard words and phrases.

I haven't looked at the products in detail or the videos yet, but agree about the missing chipboard sheet. I always get a lot of use out of that. Haven't really thought about any story ideas yet as I'm busy with DD and getting ready to go away on the 24th. I think I'll leave that until after Christmas.

I've just started watching the class content and Ali does mention that the chipboard circles are replacing the normal chipboard pieces, but adds it's just for this month Phew... that makes me feel better. I can live without them for one month

I don't subscribe to her kits, but I've often thought about doing a old&new type of scrapbook. Like things from my childhood-- like How I spent Saturday mornings or Friday nights. Prom dresses. I was showing my 12 yr old this evening the old Gunny Sax dresses that were so popular in the 80's. Old dreams and new dreams.
Just some things on my list. Hope that helps.

That's interesting...I don't sub to any of Ali's kits, but I get her emails, and when I saw this kit, I immediately thought of several stories I could tell. I'm planning on doing childhood albums for DH and myself at some point, and this type of comparison works well for that. DH and I have also both gotten new (well, new to us, anyway) cars this past year and that could make for a fun LO--making a timeline of all the cars we've had or houses we've lived in, or jobs we've had, that type of thing.

I'm mixed on this kit. The stamp is blah. I really need to drop my stamp sub. They are too similar over time. I typically love the blues in this kit, but I feel like the colors are too faded for me. I wish they were more saturated, especially after the warm colors from the last few kits. I do like the theme and can think of a few pages to do. I also miss the chipboard. Until I started getting Ali's kits I never realized that I didn't love circles in my scrapbooking. The heavy reliance on circles this kit is a challenge for me.
