Hello! Do you think it is bad to just use the general purpose ATG tape revills vs the acid free?
Thanks for your input! :-)

Nope, I use both. I'm not concerned with acid free.

I honestly think acid free was more of a marketing ploy.
But I'm also one of those childless scrappers, so I'm entertaining myself and not preserving a legacy for generations. It's all going to a recycling plant at some point.

I'm not concerned with Acid Fee. Heck I used regular old double-stick tape sometimes.
I purchase my ATG refills from framingsupplies dot com and it's very cheap. It's about $3 each for a dozen.

I feel that if I am going to the effort to scrapbook, I should use as much acid-free product as possible. Now, my kids and grandkids might just throw them all away, but at least they'll have the option of keeping them if they are in good condition.
That's just my opinion.

I always thought the general purpose rolled differently (and not in a good way in my opinion).

Bad? I don't know what the long term effects of using the general tape are or what long term even means. Five years? Fifty years? I don't know. I use acid free. It's a bit more, but I always use a coupon at M's.

I'm a childfree scrapper too, so longevity isn't as important. But like you said...is it five years or fifty years.

Depends upon your purpose. If you're preserving your legacy for generations. Well, let's face it, you better have 1-2 albums that the kids will keep (they aren't going to keep 60). For those, yeah, use acid free products. If it's just for you, don't bother. I don't bother, but my dd scrapbooks, so she can always redo a page if it's important.
