How much is enough? How much do you have? I started scrapping in 2002 and cardstock was popular for a while. So of course I bought ton in every color. I've gotten rid of some of it but I need to get rid of more. I still use it but not nearly enough for how much I have. I'm trying to decide how much I should actually keep.

I can't help you there, I use cardstock all the time and continue to purchase more. I am in desperate need of a good true red cardstock, and sunny yellow (but not neon or lemon) I have the hardest time finding those colors in a good quality cardstock.
Good luck on your cardstock dilemma.

I use cardstock in my die cut machine all the time. It is annoying how hard it is to find these days.

I don't use much card stock for scrapping - mostly just white. But I use a lot for card making and for things like titles.

I have a lot too, but I haven't purged any. I do use white, cream and kraft a lot for backgrounds and also white to mat photos if I forget to print a white border on them. So if there are colors you use like those, definitely keep. Something I started doing this year (after realizing how much I had), is to use the colors I rarely use/have a ton of to cover up when I'm layering patterned paper for a background or whatever. Since I'm covering it up, it's fine to use that neon pink cardstock I used to always grab white or kraft, but this is a better use of the excess pieces. I do use quite a bit in my Silhouette and also for preschool activities with DS, so I'm afraid to get rid of any!

I am getting rid of some of the colors that I don't use so much. So instead of having 40 pieces of that color I don't use I am only keeping 10/15 pieces. I am keeping more sheets of the colors I use the most. I also found that I have a lot of 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock and decided to start using them as a base for cards instead of just using white cardstock. Good luck on your purge !

I keep ALL of my cardstock.
I use it a lot.
As background.
For diecutting. And paper punching.
Cardmaking.
And I go through a ton when my kids need cardstock to mat their photos and printed text paragraphs for posterboard projects.
So, how much is enough?
I don't know, but I'll tell you if I ever get there.

Maybe I should just get rid of my oddball colors, like the 5 different shades of purple. (I have 2 boys and I'm not a fan of purple)

I have a ton of it. 3 different card stock weights in white, tons of solid 12x12 and 8.5x11 sheets, and about 15 pads of 12z12 DSP. I do have some old stuff that I don't use much - its thin paper in colors I'm not fond of and I've had it years. But I use it as the first layer for art projects and make envelopes or liners out of it. I always find a use for it.
I make cards only, and I buy my base cards with envelopes from Michael's. The rest of the paper I use in my Cameo, gelli prints, painting, stamping, Spellbinder dies, etc.
There was a time when I bought and bought paper - had boxes and boxes of the stuff. I just made a rule not to buy any more till I got down to 2 boxes worth. It took 3 years to go through it. I never tossed or gave it away, but donated cards from it.

If I have a color I'm not fond of, I will experiment with Pearl Ex sprays, shimmer water color sprays or create my own acrylic sprays. By the time I get through with it, the color is muted or now shimmers or has gold EP on it, etc.
I have also cut sheets down to 8.5x11 and printed an all over flower design or stars design or geometric design from my laser printer. Then foil the sheet in gold or silver.

I think it's all subjective. My typical background colors are kept separate (white, creams, browns/kraft, gray, black, navy-ish). All other colored 12x12 just moved from clear bins that stacked horizontally and took up at least 2 feet of space to the Totally Tiffany boxes, now only 1' of space or less (can't see it right now to measure as my craft desk is against that bookshelf for the next couple of weeks). So I decreased my stash just by changing the storage method. I'm good. I only buy my background colors in bulk anymore, and I buy a very few limited colors of individual sheets that coordinate with collections when I purchase. Although I'm fine with my colored cardstock collection, my problem is pattern paper where I have at least triple, probably quadruple my cardstock amount. I've already done a purge. My goal in 2016 is to use up enough of my pp to justify getting a kit club!
