Hi, everyone! I'm iBetsey1 and I'm brand new around here and relatively new to Project Life (began spring 2015 and LOVING IT!). I'm 30something, engaged, no kids, desk job, dog-mother.
I subscribed to Studio Calico in September and am on a 6 month commitment and intend to finish it out. On the plus side, I love the gallery and how easy it is to search for the kit and project type for inspiration (I need a lot of guidance!).
The problems are 1. the shopping is annoying, 2. the message boards are DEAD and 3. as I read the StudioCalicoRefugees I started thinking there was something out there with better value for me. The Citrus Twist kit is really speaking to me (and it's cheaper and seems to have a LOT more product) but I don't see on the website lots of member posts that I can totally scraplift!
So, I'm really trying to bring up my scrap game and I need to see examples from people more creative than me. Any advice? thanks and I am looking forward to becoming part of your community!

I don't do PL but do the occasional pocket page. So I hope this advice will help, but my first thoughts were:
Could you follow the blogs of those DT members that you admire? or Could You search PL at scrapbook.com and at acherryontop.com and maybe find a person you admire to follow there.
Good luck.

I usually find what I want by googling an image of whatever I'm looking for. Based on the image, that usually leads me to a blog. Which then, I look around the blog and see if the person fits my style, and then I follow them. (or you could save stuff to pinterest for future use)
Pinterest is another option to check out.

That's helpful, FurryP and LisaDV! I never considered following the blogs of the creative team members! I try to stay away from pinterest because it brings out the ADD in me, but I will look into acherryontop and scrapbook.com. Does anyone have experience with Citrus Twist its compared to studio calico? It looks like so much more stuff! I think I'll try to email one of the creative team members and get the inside scoop. Thanks again, peas! Happy holidays ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg)

I have found out about a lot of different places for inspiration and layouts from listening to the show.

Ah, @janeangel! Funny you say that I've just started listening to that podcast at the gym! It's so interested how they cover scrapbook (highly visual) stuff just by chatting about it. And also how excited they get when someone says something they really like! Love them!

Welcome to the pod Betsy! I've recently gotten back into scrapping after a long hiatus. I got going with some scrapping challenges from this board. There are three regular monthly challenges, and we have an online crop not too long ago that was very successful. Those definitely got my creativity going.

ibetsey1 In November, lisadv organized a group of hosts to present challenges over a two week period. There were different ways to win prizes over the two weeks. Each host posted a challenge and gave an example, and if you did that challenge, you posted it to the gallery and could see what everyone else came up with. There were daily chats and games, and I met some really nice people and got great ideas. It was fun and I hope we can do it again soon. Check the mainGeneral Scrapbooking page -- in the pinned threads the NC15 thread is still there and you can see the links to all the challenges for the crop. An ongoing list of challenges in two peas refugees is also pinned up there too.
