Has anyone ever bought the random scrap bags from any of the daily deal sites? Yesterday my curiousity got the best of me and I ordered one from peachy cheap. Now I'm feeling sucked in to the sdd one today! Any insights?

My daughter LOVES to get grab bags- she will go to conventions and ALWAYS buy one- there are usually things in there she absolutely loves- but then she's not really selective... A.K.A. "picky"
Let us know how it turns out! I'll be excited to hear if it was worth your time and $

I have purchased a few from Peachy Cheap, but was not happy with the last one. I hope yours is better--be sure to let us know how you like it!

They are fun. Just don't "assume" that you are getting a great bag of everything you like with no duplicates of products they already own. I always see bad reviews of grab bags or subscription boxes because people don't seem to grasp the concept of receiving miscellaneous and random items - and in the case of grab bags, UNWANTED items that have not previously sold. Even if I didn't like everything, I have been pleased with past PeachyCheap grab bags.

I have never got one but here is a youtube haul video of one from a few months. I think it looks pretty good. I don't have a lot of budget for scrapbooking so I hate to spend it on stuff that I don't even know if I want, but have always been tempted with them as well. peachy cheap grab bag haul

I've always wondered about this as well! I'm tempted, then talk myself out of it.

I can't wait to hear how you like it. I always pass on them because I am afraid it will be either stuff I already have or don't like. Good luck! Kind of like Christmas in July.

Thanks for posting the video link Mandolyn! I agree, that set looked pretty good. I will def keep you all posted and let you know what I receive! My mom and sister and I all scrapbook, with relatively different styles (and none of us being too current!) so I'm hoping I might find some items to save for stocking stuffers as well!

By the looks of that video, I might have to keep an eye out for the next grab bag they do. I'm one of those that loves grab bag type stuff. My mom scraps, too, and our styles are totally different. Chances are, if there's something I can't use, she can. I'd definitely buy it, if the chance came again. It seems like a really good deal.

Meh...it's a toss-up. I get excited getting stuff I'm not expecting and I also have been disappointed if the bag contains a lot of paper that I don't use or already have too much of (i.e. Halloween, Christmas).

I love grab bags and usually find some way to use what is in there or I give it away. Usually I find more good stuff than bad.

I'm not really a grab bag kind of person. Although you can get some good deals, I prefercto choose exactly what I want.

Well, I was always uncertain until I made a GO for it. I was kind of disappointed. The papers were good brand and weight, but the colors really put me off. But, you see, I had to try, at least once. I won't do it again. But good luck with yours. Post the contents if you can. It always give other people ideas of what comes in the bags.

Well, my pictures didn't work out too well. But if you follow the first link you can see all of them. My thoughts are a little…meh…I suppose. I thought the process and excitement was fun. And opening the package definitely felt like a Christmas Morning stocking. Unfortunately, the vast majority of items are not too exciting for me. The colors and tones just aren't my style. There isn't anything that I would have bought at a store, although I can see myself easily using a couple of items (feathers, bits & pieces), but lots of them just don't excite me (in that way we hope our supplies do!) All that said that, I will keep some and try to use them and expand my horizons with them. The vast majority however, will be regifted to scrappy family members!

The tittles you can use, and so the buttons and the washi. This one has no pic in there. Just a gray rectangle shows. From here I like the stamps and the brads. This group of things... hum... I like the rub-ons & dimentional stickers, the paper pad its not my colors either. The pompoms I would not know what to do with it.
I guess it was not so bad, but I relate to what you said.

Then you come back here and click the little icon that looks like a picture frame, just before the emoticons. Paste the address copied from photobucket and click ïnsert image. Your image should show on the page.

Thanks for the update! Some of the products look ok but I definitely wouldn't want those pompoms either! I guess it's a bit hit and miss because you've no way of knowing whether the colours/styles will appeal. I think unless a grab bag was really really cheap I'd rather just pick out my own stuff.

And honestly…I get so excited about the whole anticipation and opening, that I'll probably order another some day! The value was definitely there.

Thanks for the pics & video link ladies. Grab bags sound fun to me, but like was earlier, my budget is small and my space is very, very limited, so I hesitate to spend money on anything I don't love. In the video haul I never would have thought about the glitter. I can't use anything glittery except glitter glue, so all of those glitter items would have been an immediate waste for me. But I liked the other stuff she received, especially the OA stamps.

You didn't sound negative at all. grab bags are a gamble. I used to buy grab bags from stamp companies. I got some great stamps, unmounted rubber. Stuff that you never think you used. I used. My favourite was a monkey stamp depicting the monkey sniffing glue and passed out.. Also a sentiment stamp "does this condom make me look fat" I RAK'd some of it. Shared some of it. But I sure got my moneys worth out of it.
