When my nephew's car caught on fire on the freeway and he had to pull over and jump out we called it a carbcue.
I say accident. Tomato/Tomahto. Does saying, "accident" get me thrown out of this thread?
Oh, and one more thing: Please tell us that no one in your life had an accident.

Mostly I say accident. Otherwise I'll use which ever one comes to mind first.

Accident. I don't think I would ever use either crash or wreck.

Very Christmas-y. I say car accident. No, I say automobile altercation. I just remembered I'm fancy.

In my world it is an MVC. We no longer call them "accidents." The reason being is that a lot of healthcare professionals say that there are no accidents. Someone CHOSE to drive too fast, too distracted, too unsafely, etc.
Out of work, I still call it an MVC but tend to say "wreck"when I don't.

Mostly accident. I would use crash as in "he crashed into my car". I would use wreck as in "what a wreck".

Someone CHOSE to drive too fast, too distracted, too unsafely, etc. Yes exactly. I have heard the top traffic cop in this state interviewed several times, and he always says that car crashes are NOT accidents because most of the time they could have been avoided (by not speeding, not drinking, not being sleepy, not using your mobile phone etc etc). But in answer to the OP, I say "car crash". I've only heard "car wreck" used by Americans either here (my main interactions with people in the US) or on TV.

Accident. And I think the whole "they aren't accidents" thing is ridiculous. An accident is something you didn't intend to happen, so unless you intentionally crashed your car, it is an accident, regardless of any bad decision making that may have contributed to it.

a wreck. no need for 'car'
it's assumed that it's a car unless the 'wreck' is qualified by another noun
like '4wheeler wreck' 'bike wreck' (and that is a motorcycle not an actual bike)

I think I say them all.
Bob wrecked his new car. Bob was in an accident. Bob crashed into a power pole.
ETA: It's best not to ride with Bob! (sorry I couldn't resist)
