Laura, my prayers go out to your DD. Having a loving husband who has summers off is a blessing and mom guilt sucks but dad's love is strong too and he needs to be able to be there for her as much as you do. Little sick leave sucks rocks though. Please know she is in my prayers as this is an awful position to be in. Does she have rings on her fingers for support? I would find a picture if I knew where to look. RA sucks. My mom has it and it sucks!!! Love to your family! She doesn't wear rings. I've not hear of wearing rings for support. I know she'll appreciate that her dad is involved when she's older. I think it's just the idea of having me there. Her doctor called tonight to check on her and mentioned that I must be her good luck charm. Last time the nitrous worked really well, but this time she couldn't relax and let herself snooze.

The Versed worked and she only remembers the first injection. She slept for a bit, then dh took her for lunch. She was curled up on the couch, watching Dr. Who when I got home from work.
Thanks for the encouragement. I get so tired of dealing with this. I know she's afraid of hoping the new medication will work.

Sending good thoughts her way, and to you, too. What a horrible thing to have to go through.

Good thoughts to her and the rest of you! I can't imagine being in that much pain, and to be so young. I hope these injections help!

And when meds don't work, it seems as though you get to a point that you'll do ANYTHING to get the pain to stop. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I hope that this works and gives her some relief and that it brings you both some peace.

Sorry you couldn't be there.
I watched your daughter's video - a beautiful girl and very poised and well spoken!

I can't not imagine what she goes through everyday I am sorry for that. I am sorry you were unable to be with her. That mommy guilt, I think we have all had it at one time or another.
She is a beautiful girl.

I hope your daughter is doing better today! Sending prayers and healing thoughts her way.
It would be such a cool thing if co-workers could donate a vacation day to someone who needs it.

I know how you feel. My dd is having eye surgery on Tuesday. My dh is burning vacation time since he will starting a new job in a week. I am starting a new job Monday and don't feel right taking off. So I cant' be at the surgery. I should be done before she's home and might meet her at the hospital if she's in step down for awhile. It does suck I hope the surgery goes well. I know you had to fight insurance for it. We are waiting for our insurance to cover DD's new medication. It's ridiculous that these things are constant battles.

How is she feeling today? Having grown up in Canada, and after being here in the US for more than 20 years, it still turns my stomach that health care is a for-profit business h ere, rather than a basic right. ugh!! Sick people do not need the added financial stressors! hugs to you

I'm so sorry... there is nothing worse than watching your kids suffer. Know that the mom guilt will happen no matter what the situation. Sounds like she did well and the docs did a nice job giving her a substitute med. Versed works wonders on my son as well. I know it can hype some kids up so she is lucky about that affect it has on her. Take care of her AND you!

She's doing much better today, thank you. Co-workers can donate sick leave but I would have to use all of my vacation leave up first. I had to save it for my brother's wedding. I take her to her next appointment day. I am asking her specialist to complete FMLA paperwork.

Sick people do not need the added financial stressors! hugs to you She's doing very well today. I've joked with dh that we would spend much less if we lived in Canada, even with the higher taxes, than we spend on insurance, deductibles, co-pays, and drugs.

I was just coming here to see how your daughter is doing. Glad to hear she feels better.
I hope the enbrel works for her. I was on it for 7years. It worked great until it didn't. Lol. I hate how crazy expensive the meds are.
Enjoy your weekend!
