I've never used the print/cut feature on my Cameo, but I want to try it. I want to cut stickers for my planner.
If you've cut stickers, I'm assuming I don't need sticker sheets from Silhouette, and any sticker paper will do? Is one brand better than another? I need to go to Staples later so I thought I'd buy some to try out.
Thanks.

I've done it on my Cricut. I'm assuming the process is the same. I use full size label sheets. Much cheaper but no glossy shine.

Adding... My daughters actually prefer the removable Avery circle and rectangle stickers that I just made in my printer versus the more detailed ones from the Cricut. So maybe get a small pack of sticker paper to start.

The more I'm thinking about this--I wonder if I bought some at some point because I wanted to try this before. I better check before I buy something I already have (which I've been known to do lol). Thanks!

I seriously need a good tutorial on how to do this. I know there are tons for the cameo on YouTube. I almost bought one last summer but ended up with the explore (Cricut) instead.

Make sure you use the correct type of registration marks on the Silhouette. That is one of the most common mistakes. Use Type 1.
Make sure your page size is the same size as the paper you are printing on. Do not use "borderless" settings on your printer.
Bump up your print quality for best look results.

I use print and cut all the time and love it. I picked up the silhouette sticker sheets when they were in sale at Mike's for doing this. I read a blog post that there's Avery sticker sheets that work, too. I just need to get my butt in gear and do it.

I have made lots of custom stickers using my Cameo... I have found that I get the best quality by "printing" to a pdf file first and opening it in windows or Photoshop to print, rather than printing directly from my Silhouette Studio. As long as the registration marks are on when you print it to the pdf it will work just the same as printing from Silhouette Studio. Hope that helps you out.

Also, I want to add that if you are interested in making stickers, you can buy similar matte sticker paper from Staples. I was buying the Silhouette brand printable sticker paper, but I just got a pack from Staples, I got 30 sheets for $13.49 (make sure you match their online price, our Staples had a different, higher, price in store), rather than 8 sheets for $6.99 for Silhouette brand.
I haven't made any stickers with the Staples brand paper yet, as I just purchased it yesterday, but I can update once I do, which should be in the next day or so.

Thanks so much for the helpful tips! I checked and didn't have the sticker paper, so when DH and I ran to Wal-Mart we went into Office Depot and they didn't have any.
We're gonna head off to Staples in a bit.
I'm excited to try this!

I was able to get the Staples sticker sheets, they did honor the on-line price (which was almost $3 cheaper), and there was a coupon the cashier applied for us, which I think was 20% off? We bought a few other things, so it was a good run! Thanks for the help. I'm hoping to get my scrap area cleaned up this week after my XMas decorations come down. I have a feeling I'll be back asking (begging ) for help, lol. I've had my Cameo for several years and never tried the Print and Cut feature, so I'm looking forward to playing around.

I found that doing a test run first is always a good idea, so as to not waste a bunch of sticker paper. I made a few smaller circular stickers to print then cut, so that I could see if my Cameo needed to be calibrated. If you do need to calibrate, it's really simple, especially if you have the sketch pens, which I used in lieu of cutting. Mine are still off by a bit and I'm thinking it's because my Cameo isn't in the best lit area of my room, so the more light it can get the better. If you need help, I'm always willing to help out ETA: Don't forget that you can edit the size of the registration marks and the margins, so you have more printable area.

Oh, boy...it's already starting to sound complicated! One thing I never liked about the Cameo is they didn't have clear cut instructions. It required a lot of hunting down/searching for videos, at least for me, to figure things out. Also, I haven't used it in a while so I almost feel like I'm going to be starting from scratch. Thanks so much! I look forward to working with you in the future!!!

The number one thing I make on my Cameo are stickers. I consider my Cameo a sticker machine now.
I use Staples sticker paper. I can recommend it. I have used this paper for four years. My stickers always look gorgeous.
You got a lot of great tips. Import as PDF, etc... I do all those things too. My biggest advice when starting to make stickers is do a test run. Take a few sheets of your sticker paper and say it's going to be your test paper. You don't even have to print. You can cut squares. You want to make sure you have your blade depth correctly or your stickers will be cut to deep or too shallow. It only takes a second to test but will save tons of frustration.

There shouldn't be any difference in print quality, whether you print from Studio or PS. You can adjust your print quality when you open your printer settings in Silhouette Studio. I always set mine to high quality. Also - "Print to PDF" is a feature on Macs .. and maybe on Windows 10. Older Windows PC's will need a virtual printer downloaded. I like PDF Creator and use it to output high quality .jpg's from Studio.

I will add that the Avery brand are super cheap on Amazon right now. $6.99 for pack of 25 sheets. I need to grab some for me! amzn.to/1SjwLE5

I'll have to look into that, I wonder if it resets when I close the program, it printed great in the past with purchased files, but with the ones I created it was a bit blurry. Thanks for the advice.

I'm sure it's my printer settings but I was using the same settings as the Silhouette paper, so I'm kind of lost about what to do next.

Double check that your resolution of image sent to printer hasn't gotten changed. Mine is set at 600 dpi. You can find it under Preferences-General-then scroll down.

I usually have printer paper in my tray. When I use a specialty paper like sticker paper, I just put it in the tray with the printer paper. If I am making any sense. It keeps my paper straight. Every brand of printer that I have ever owned if I used a single sheet of paper in the tray then it went in crooked.

I tried looking on Epson's website and I couldn't find any advice that worked, so I will definitely try this next time I print.
