She was admitted to the hospital three days ago, unable to communicate. They believe as of yesterday she has a serious blood infection.
I feel so badly for her. She's been in pain from her RA and two car accidents for the last 15 years and this is just one more pile on for her. I hope to get updates from our family later, but I know this is bad. She's only 71.
UPDATE: I guess this happens in the medical world: they have changed her diagnosis from a blood infection to a staph infection. I got to speak with her today and she was in a great deal of pain. Poor Mom. My uncle and aunt are now on the list to speak with staff so we'll know more tomorrow.

Kelpea, I am so sorry to hear about your Mom. Hopefully the doctors can get her on some good antibiotics to help clear the infection.
My FIL is currently in hospital with the same thing. My DH flew home (Australia) to see him. So sad. Praying for your Mom and you and your family.

Not sure if this will help you, but I almost died in March, because I had a really bad blood infection/sepsis. However, w/great care I'm here typing and though I'm still recovering, cause it knocked the wind out of me I'm here to tell the tale. So, I'm going to pray for the same outcome for your mom. This is survivable. They're going to push those antibiotics. Prayers said!

I know that you must be frightened for your Mom. I certainly will pray for her and you. Please keep us updated and try not to worry. She is getting care and while it will take her a while to recover, she should start feeling better soon. (((HUG)))
