We got invited to go to this Rockabilly event at a bar here in town. Normally when we go to these things I usually just wear what I normally wear makeup and hair wise. But, I'd really like to do some victory rolls. I know there are YouTube videos out there, but if it goes as well as the tutorials for fishtail braids, then I'm up a creek So, if you've styled your hair this way, was it super hard to do? My hair is just past my bra strap. I'm not sure if the long hair is a help or a hindrance, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed I can do this!

If you're talking about a 40s rolled do, yes, I used to do that frequently when I was in my 20s and my hair was long. It wasn't hard at all. I wrapped it around whatever I had handy and pinned it with Bobby pins and fanned out the roll as needed, then sprayed. I was in love with 40s musicals back then. There was no YouTube to look at in the early 1990s but it's not hard!

I'm going to the store tonight to buy a big bottle of hairspray!

I was just looking this up on pinterest. Whenever I get my hair colored I just have her blowdry my hair straight, but next time I'm going to walk in with a picture of a braid to have something interesting.

I can't help you with the hairstyle, but "Freeze It" hair spray is awesome. I saw a lady with at least six or seven cans in her shopping cart and her hair was almost standing straight up huge without moving. I knew right then that it must be some good stuff!

I can't help with the hair part, but if this is Rock Baby Rock It, I might see you there! I'm going to my friend's last concert with her Janis Joplin tribute band at HOB tomorrow, but I'm thinking that Saturday may require rockabilly.

If you're brave enough to ever try a fishtail braid again, try it with towel dried hair. I can't do one to save my life if my hair is dry but if it's a little damp it is a lot easier.

I've attempted it a few times. My hair is layered though which I think is a disadvantage but it still came out okay! Just practice a bit and you should be fine.

We'll be there tomorrow night bc my 25th reunion is on Saturday night. Let me know if you go tomorrow!

I am 99.9995% sure that I will not be at Continental on Friday. We probably won't even get out of HOB until midnight, if not later. And pfft on 25th reunion - my 35th is next year!

You will have to take a pic when you are done! I just googled it and don't think I have seen anyone IRL wear their hair like that. I am curious to see how it turns out.
