I have a question for all you digi-scrappers out there. I have 2 Project 365 albums that I did in traditional form. They are huge! Larger than I had thought because I was actually pretty good about keeping up with them. They are just in pocket albums though, I used Creative Memories expandable picfolio albums, which is a lot like Project Life. My kids love the traditional albums, but I think I can get away with converting these to digital (all the pics are originally digital)
Now to my question. I'd like to hand write the journalling part of the books once they are printed. Has anyone done this before? Is it a good idea? Do you have any recommendations of pens? How would I do the blank spaces for pages?
I will probably print from Shutterfly. I have printed several of their books for my dad and I love the quality.
Thanks for any info you can share.

I have never done this but I love to add my handwriting. I bought myself a bamboo tablet so that I can add all I want.

I had my handwriting turned into a font which I use sometimes when I want to add that handwritten look. It was a free font converter so only has the letters in a printed format but it did let me include upper and lower case and numbers as well as punctuation and other special characters. Unfortunately I no longer have the link bookmarked so I'm probably not that much help to you.

I tend to hybrid write between the two. Was it expensive?

It was done on a free site which is why it was only printed letters, not cursive. I believe it's a lot more difficult to convert cursive, which is why that will come at a cost. I've done some googling this morning and think I may have used this site: my script font
I really want to get my grandmother's done so I've been working my way through her handwritten notes to find all the letters and numbers. I'm still a few short but it's definitely on my to do list.

Oh I have few of those pens. DH uses them for his bullet journalling. Those pages look like the ones from shutterfly too. Sort of glossy but not slick like photos. I think I'll give it a whirl and work on the book this week. I'll update with my progress.

Oh, thanks for this! I was wondering how I was going to use my handwriting too. I was thinking I would just have to scan it in, but some of these are great ideas!

You can use a Wacom/Bamboo tablet to include your handwriting on your digi pages.

Just an update. I finally got my book done and it came 2 days ago. I love it!!! It was a lot harder than I thought doing a digital book but it was worth it. I got 105 pages in the book (maxed it out) and it's thinner than most paper back books I read.
I did leave a few blank pages to add memorabilia and I also added digital papers for journalling.
I have been using a sharpie ultra fine point pen for most of my journalling and it is going well. I'm writing out my notes on scrap paper before I write in the book. Then I leave the page open for a few seconds to let it dry. No smudging so far! My only issue I have right now is finding a white pen for darker pages. The white pens I have aren't working well. I went to an art store today and I got a pentel silver pen that I hope will work. I will try it tomorrow.

It sounds wonderful. I'd love to see some of the finished pages if you're willing to share them.

I turned my handwriting into a font! I can have my own neatly handwritten words anytime with no spelling errors (thanks to spell check) and its always straight, any size i want it to be, and fits wherever i want it to fit! woo hoo! check it out at: www.yourfonts.com/fontgenerator/213681.html
