Is there an easy way to re-color Thickers to a different color? I am mostly wanting to color them to a dark blue - I have a 5yo DS, and I never seem to have enough medium to dark blue letters! I was trying to use what I already had, so I tried out a mist last night. I used a foam Thicker in pale pink, and learned that the foam + mist combo is definitely not good! (Maybe that should have been obvious.) Anyway, I do have a few of the white DIY Thickers that are made to be colored, but I also have lots of colors that I just don't use much. And I am wiling to buy a new ink or whatever, since I realized I really just need the one color (or possibly 2 shades of blue). Thanks!

I have had good luck using Copic markers on some Thickers. Actually, the best results were with a navy blue Copic marker on gross tanish Thickers.

I was going to suggest markers, too.

Someone on here suggested the Prima Chalk inks. Hopefully she will chime in, but I'm pretty sure she colors white or light colored ones with those and has great results. I keep meaning to try it!

I haven't posted about it, but I've used chalk inks before and it worked fine. Copics would work, too, or heat embossing them or the cheapest way is to probably just get some acrylic paint and paint all the sets that you don't like. I have a son also, so that's a great idea! I end up using a lot of black Thickers on his pages, but navy or gray would be nice.

Thanks for all the ideas! I'm going to have to see if our craft stores have any of these - all we have now is J's, M's, and HL.

Chime! I use the Prima Inks and they always turn out fantastic. They are like a thick paint. You can color the dark ones white and then change it to a different color. They are the little blue inks that kind of look like irons. HL has them. Scrapbook.com does too. www.scrapbook.com/store/pri-891619.html

If you have a Hobby Lobby nearby, they have a set of Thicker-like alphas in a nice navy blue. It is a very classic font. Paper Studio brand.

Another vote for copics! They even work on glitter thickers. Go buy some blue copics And don't bother buying the blending marker...if you aren't doing fancy colouring, alcohol wipes or rubbing alcohol will help get copic ink off your fingers/craft mat, and will also remove most of the ink from shiny surfaces such as chipboard thickers.
