link To read the story The story does sound creepy. However, I think it may be some old women that collects doll and lives in the area where the girls do. I know a few older women who collected dolls and as the start to reach that age the start to sale of give away there collection. If I am right the pink one is a Marie Osmond doll from around mid 90's or a little earlier. (yes I have this strange thing for dolls) What do you think is going on with the dolls showing up. I think both the dolls they showed come from one of the shop at home networks.

As I was reading the story, I was thinking it was a grandmotherly type woman thinking she was doing something nice.
And it turns out, it was. Lol! The woman who was leaving the dolls attended church with the girls and left the dolls to be sweet.

I have mixed emotions about this story. On one hand people with young children really do need to be cautious, but I also find it sad that society has reached a point that kind gestures can no longer be taken at face value.

When I first heard this, I thought "somebody is watching too much Pretty Little Liars".

Aw, the poor old lady was trying to do something nice for her church members. She should have left a note to the parent at each home telling who she was and why she was leaving the dolls. I'd be freaked out if I was a recipient too.

my first thought when reading the story - it's an old lady but it seems we live in a society that turns EVERYTHING into some heinous crime

My bets are also that it's an old lady. On the other hand, I think dolls are creepy as hell, so if it happened to me, I'd be a little freaked out.

Yep, the creepy doll part skeeves me out...but ANYTHING left randomly on my front porch would be either reported or trashed. I don't care if it's some nice old lady. Why not be upfront about it and give them in person?

Why do some of you think those dolls are creepy? They are nothing more than porcelain dolls that have been collected by many throughout the years. I had some growing up and my daughter has one of mine plus a couple more.
I think it is truly sad that our society is so jaded that we can't ever accept a kind gesture from someone without being suspicious or getting the police involved. I think she should have left a note but seriously, it isn't like the dolls were mutilated. They were simply dolls.

Wow - they look like the girls that live there? That is a lot of work for a creeper. This makes me even more weird-ed out by this story. Not only a creeper but a STALKER CREEPER who has to really carefully look at the girls and dolls to see if they match up!
Yikes!

I've seen too many episodes of L&O:SVU to not be freaked out by something like that.

This took place in my area. The Orange County Register had an article about it in the local section this morning. It was just an older woman from their church who didn't realize that it might be taken the wrong way. All is well now.

Why do some of you think those dolls are creepy? They are beyond scary and look evil. Up there in the frightening department with clowns, ventriloquists dummies, Punch and Judy, and puppets of any sort, especially the dancing ones. The stuff of nightmares and horror films. *Shudders*

Well if a doll showed up with no note on my front porch that looked like my daughter I would be creeped out totally. Once I heard the back story, all would be good. But in this day and age, you never know!! Bless her heart though.. it is a sweet thing to do.. just leave a note next time!

I dated a guy in high school and his mom collected dolls. She had hundreds of them all over her house. I was always creeped out whenever I went over there. If I walked out my door now and found a doll on my porch it would bring back memories of us making out on the couch and all those dolls staring at us. I shudder just thinking about it.

The sad part here is if this happened with one of our girls. They would just think mommy got a new doll and drop it off in my office. I have a friend who collects dolls and she will send new ones for me from time to time. (I love my dolls)
