Oh geez, I got to behave myself. I know my position (over 20 years) is ending soon (next few months). Today I get to work with a sticky note on my computer (from another co-worker) to be sure that I put away some supplies I ordered away. Ummm yes, I have done this little task now for 15 years, I think I know I have to put it away, I really don't need a sticky note as a reminder.
What kills me is that the old office manager (who retired and wasn't replaced; her duties were divided between three of us)... she used to put sticky notes on everyone's computers and it drove us all crazy... now co-worker is doing it? REALLY?
Ugggg, I know I have to behave but I don't need to be treated like a 12 year old.

I'd put them away in the wrong place. When asked, say "Well, the sticky didn't tell me where to put them."

Are you tempted to put a post-it on her computer saying "Please remind me to put away office supplies when they arrive. Thanks!"

Oh I LOVE those.
I did put them away but my cranky old self didn't label them (they are toners for different printers around the office, so I always put little stickies on them so everyone can just pull out their own toner as needed) like the note told me to do. I am so passive aggressive sometimes. I should have put them in a different shelf!!

I am tired of behaving myself. I have less than one year to go.
And I am tired of being told I am "old school" when I want things to be done properly instead of half assed.
I am tired of being told by management that I need to relax that the world is changing and I just have to accept that.
My job deals with the care of human beings so my way of looking at it is do the right thing no matter what.
So yes my attitude is getting militant which is not my normal. They have 10 months and six days of attitude coming their way.

I would put a sticky note on her monitor saying "I put the supplies away, thanks for the reminder" But, I'm a smartass like that.

I'd put a sticky note on your co-worker's computer congratulating her on her promotion to office manager, and expressing surprise and disappointment that you did not receive the memo about this momentous promotion.

Does she know that the end is near too? That kind of knowledge will add extra stress and she may be lashing out on others because of it. Either way - its annoying. On a lighter side, have you seen this website? Passive Aggessive Notes Here is the link: Passive Aggressive Notes Scroll through some of the posts and you will see some really ridiculous notes that have been posted. Very funny.

I would say to her (not in a note), "Oh ___, thank you so much for the reminder." I think she may get the hint and be embarrassed that you said something to her. Yes, I can be passive aggressive.

Is it possible that your co-worker was trying to be funny? You mentioned the old manager used to do this, so maybe she was doing it to get a laugh?

I would put a sticky note that says "Thanks for the laugh today. Remember how so and so used to leave sticky notes and it drove us all crazy!" on her computer monitor.

You reminded me of the show Parks and Rec, where someone says something about doing something half-assed. Ron's (I think that's his name comment), is basically, to not half ass a bunch of things, whole ass one thing. Anyway, your comment made me smile in the midst of a funkalicious day.

I would give it back to the writer and say "thanks for the reminder, I am giving this back to you so you can use it again next time". Good luck on your interview

Not a joke, or she would have spilled by now. I believe she can tell I am not to happy as we really haven't spoke to each other today which is a little unusual... I just don't feel like playing the pretend game... just keeping to myself.. and here.

You've mentioned before you work in the Cherry Creek area. Get thee to Zaidy's and grab yourself one of those sensational dark chocolate-covered macaroons. If that doesn't put you in a good mood, I don't know what will. Unless you don't like dark chocolate or coconut, in which case I'm sure you are a communist.

He argued with DH that this is the way it is now so *get used to it*. Uh no ~ and recently an offer came in and the agent didn't bother to call and another offer was accepted. Shoulda called. Not that it mattered because the offer was $100,000 too low. It just amazes us that someone would rely on just email without a *heads-up* phone call.

I'm clutching my heart AND my pearls. <gasp> I was just down there yesterday at an appointment and didn't notice the Sam's #3. My only focus after my appointment was on Zaidy's. It also has the only restaurant meatloaf I like. back to *pea*ality, Zaidy's is a Jewish Deli restaurant here in the Denver area. Food is pretty darned good, but their selection of desserts is awesome. And those macaroons are to die for (well, unless you are a communist like WorkingClassDog ) They cater, but I don't think they mail order. But if you ever come to town, I'll be happy to treat you to one. P.S. I still coupon, but not quite as much as I used to.
