I really appreciated voltagain doing the photo challenges last year. While I didn't participate every month, they were an inspiration and I did get some photos I wouldn't otherwise have gotten. I thought I'd do some personal challenges for myself this year and if anyone wants to play along please do! These month the challenge is to use your kit lens (or cheapest lens). Even though I have upgraded lenses over the years I have hung onto the Canon 18-55mm IS that came with my first DSLR my Rebel XSI. It's not my best or my favourite lens, but it has its uses. The bokeh and contrast aren't the best but the sharpness and colour are nice, and it is a close focusing lens. It was the only lens I took with me on a recent trip to the Mennonite Farmers' Market and I got some shots I was pleased with. If anyone else wants to participate and share feel free.

Nice! I'm again amazed at the sharpness this lens can achieve. Love your compositions too!

Thanks. It's amazing how much better the lens got over the years as I learned more about photography, lol.
