I though the same thing. ? lord knows you either love me or hate me, I don't do gray area! My motto is Learn to love me or Love to hate me -just pick a side and stay there! ETA - sorry that I didn't realize this thread was from January!

It's from January? Then I can say my off track comment... I just love @gar 's "hey ho" I don't have anyone blocked. I only get irritated when certain people arrive in a thread and start to totally dominate it or change it's course....I feel like saying, hey this discussion was fine before you waded in and started taking over - again! Hey ho! I just tend to leave at that point

I actually just blocked someone. When you first block them, it doesn't give you the option to block their threads, but once you check all the boxes for everything else, it takes you to your security settings page. At the bottom of the page, it shows who you have blocked. There you have the extra checkbox to block their threads.
The person I blocked posted something that was hateful and ugly and I could see no benefit from seeing future posts from that. There are other members who occasionally post something mean, but I won't block because they aren't always mean, and I find value in their posts, sometimes even the mean posts. There has to be an over-the-top level of nastiness to meet my criteria for blocking, and I have a pretty high level for that.

I am pretty sure a lot of us have that same person blocked. Trouble is I often don't log in, and then I see posts from her. I always just shake my head because she is just mean mean and nasty, yet when she pots for help on here she gets responses? I don't get it?

I figured out the problem. If you already have someone blocked, you are not able to add blocking the threads at a later point in time. The only time the option comes up is when you first block them. As hollymolly said, once you block a new person, it will open the Privacy tab under Profile. At that point you can then choose to block all their threads. It also gives the block threads option on any others you may have blocked.

So I deleted the person from my list so I could add them all over again, and still no option to block their posts. It's too bad Proboards has changed this feature. I don't understand why they are making 4 options easy to find and one so difficult. Save

There are so many different solutions on this thread that I am wondering if it depends on which browser you use or even whether you are pc or Mac, whether you are accessing from phone or laptop to do the blocking, etc.

I can't get that option to block threads. This is what I see: ________________________________________ Member Block List Search members to block their interaction with you on the forum. Note: you cannot block conversations from staff members. XXavatarXX XXnameXX XXtitleXX
x Hide this member's posts. x Do not let this member start new conversations with me. x Do not let this member follow me or my activities. x Block notifications from this member. __________________________________________
I don't see an option to block the thread. And boy, I would really like to.

Miss Ang - You have to block all threads by someone, not just an individual thread. I wish they would offer that option. melanell - Here are the steps I went through. I found you did have to start fresh or it wouldn't work. 1. Click on member name, then when it goes to their info page, click on the gear at the top right. Choose "Block Member" and you will get a pop-up box that shows: Block Member
Hide this member's posts. Do not let this member start new conversations with me. Do not let this member follow me or my activities. Block notifications from this member.
Select the boxes you want, then click the "Block Member" box at the bottom of the box.
2. Once you click that block, it should automatically take you to your own Edit Profile & Settings>Privacy Settings page. Scroll to the bottom of this page and you should see the name & avatar of the blocked member. Beside that you will see the list:
Hide this member's posts. Do not let this member start new conversations with me. Do not let this member follow me or my activities. Block notifications from this member. Block this member's threads.
This is the only time you will see the option "Block this member's threads." Select it, then click "Save Privacy Settings" at the bottom of the page. Wait a second and you should see a box flash next to it that says "Saved". After that, you should see "The creator of this thread is on your block list." in place of the usual thread information.
Hope you are able to figure it out.

Thank you! I see my error, now. I deleted the person from my list for the fresh start, but then used the search box on my own profile page to add them back, instead of re-blocking them from their own page. That made all the difference. Thanks again! Save
