We have one and love it. It is supposedly warmer then other floor surfaces and it is comfy to stand on. I love to cook and spend lot of time in the kitchen , so a comfy floor was a must. Very easy maintenance too. We get lots of compliments on the look.

I have a cork floor and I really love it. I dropped a can of beans once and it bounced. It's softer and warmer underfoot, hides dirt and spills well, and it's a green product which was important to me. I would put them in again in a new house.

I would LOVE an entire house with cork flooring!
Kitchen? Is it put together with polymer to avoid getting water under or in it? If so, heck yes!

Is it easy to clean, or rather, how do you clean it? I just picture it being absorbent and was wondering how it would do in a kitchen. We need to redo all the flooring in our 1950 house and cork was recommended to me too.

Cork is wonderful flooring for the kitchen - certainly my first choice.
Cork is porous of course, so it has to be sealed, usually with something like polyurethane, which comes in different finishes such gloss, high gloss, satin etc. I prefer satin - it has a sheen but is nor glossy, so it is not at all high maintenance.
You can get cork tiles or sheet cork - personally, I prefer sheet cork - just get it laid and then seal the whole thing.
Years down the track, if the sealant is looking a bit shabby, you just sand it back a bit and reapply.

Internet says that the flooring product is sealed and no need to seal by the home owner.

I have cork in my entire house and love it. I use Murphy's Oil Soap when I scrub them and it works great.

I almost always do it on my hands and knees (well really sitting on my a$$), but it is just as easy to use a sponge mop with the Murphy's Oil Soap. The only reason I do it by hand is that I also wipe down all the baseboards and lower cabinets at the same time.

It is easy to clean a cork floor with a damp mop.
You do need to be careful not to let too much loose water pool onto a cork floor, particularly if you have pre-sealed cork tiles. That is because you don't to risk water getting in underneath the sealant. it is one of the reasons I prefer the sealant to be applied after laying, whether it is cork sheeting or cork tiles, so that it is an unbroken layer of sealant.
But really, maintenance is easy - sweeping and a damp mop should take care of almost everything.

Growing up we had a cork floor in our kitchen. It's very soft under foot and like others have said, good if you drop something on the floor
