I am not sure if you need to be a member of Facebook to read this. Click through the photos and you will see someone who has/had a bigger addiction to scrapbooking than we ever could! There are 30 photos to view. You can always view the auction site and see photos of the auction items, too. I was getting overwhelmed at all of it. #nojudgement as I have a big enough stash of my own. This is a LOT of stuff!

That's A LOT of stamps!!! I couldn't fill one 53 foot trailer with everything in our apartment and this is 2 trailers of just stamps. WOW!! I wonder why they're being sold.

Thats just crazy. Surely she (or he?) had to have owned a store or something to have that many.

Is that the 1 million rubber stamps auction? Crazy. I looked through all the pictures to see if the elusive unicorn, MS pinked circle punch, was there...alas no. I don't actually want one but figured I could pass along the info if I found it. Seems like I always see someone, somewhere looking for that punch.

She did buy duplicates of things which is a shame. I saw 3 sets of Stampin Up chalks and those were expensive when they came out.
I think this would be perfect for someone running an art camp.
I am not sure if I believe this or not, but it might have been better if there had been more paper available, too, as not everyone has the huge stashes of paper that we all have. It is still better that she/he had not bought a whole ton of paper, though. I am conflicted here as you can see...
Still #nojudgement

For some weird reason I can not see a picture in the post. I went ahead and googled "one million rubber stamp auction" and found it. Gosh, I don't know what to say about it. There are a few pictures of stamps inside a house, it looks like a nice house. I hope the person that had this collection finds peace. Bids are already going for many of the lots and I hope the person (or family) can recoup some of the cost. If there truly are "one million" stamps then there is at least a million dollars there (if you give a low, low price of $1.00 per stamp). Here are some links for folks who can't find the original: link and another link

I had to charge my phone (its an android) which I can see the picture on, and grabbed the iPad and yeah, no picture. Strange.

Is a 53' long trailer a semi? One that delivers groceries to the grocery store? That would be a BIG truck and she had 2 of them?

I hope she gets through this, it can't be easy.

Does this make anyone else really sad? Most of it wasn't even used.

How did y'all know she was getting help? Do you know the lady?
I do find it really sad. And completely makes me want to go and start using stuff I have set aside.

The auctioneer that is in charge of the auction had posted to several Facebook groups in hopes of attracting potential buyers, he explained the story when most people thought the owner of this mega stash had passed. That is where I learned of it.

Does this make anyone else really sad? I had to stop looking at the photos. It makes me very sad, because you know her buying all those supplies had nothing to do with scrapping, and everything to do with trying to fill a hole, and trying to feel complete. I wish her well.

and what do you mean by "cataloging"? How do you catalog your stamps? I can think of a few ways but is there some official system out there? TIA

TIA Here is a link to a thread about this on the stamping board from a while back. I talked about the best method I've read about and linked to a blog about four posts in down the page. HTH!
