Hmmm, that's a tough one. The EHDs that hold all our digital photos. The girls' baby scrapbooks, which include pictures for which I do not have a digital or any other copy. I really need to scan the pages at some point. Anyone have a 12x12 scanner to lend me? My mom's recipe box, which includes all of her recipes in her handwriting (and often the original recipe in my grandmother's handwriting, slipped in the back of the plastic sleeve that protects each "new" version). Also the quilt she made me for my 18th birthday, in lovely 90s colors of dusty rose and hunter green. And this is silly - but I have the charging cord from a cell phone I owned in 2006, with a note taped on it that reads 'bad spot' in my dad's handwriting. I had accidentally left the cord at their house in Christmas of 2006, and he sent it to me in the mail, but first he noticed that the rubber coating was breaking near the plug, as they often do, so he pointed it out so I would see I needed a new one. It was very like him - small acts of caring and watching out for us were his thing. That Christmas was the last time I saw my parents before their deaths in July 2007, which was definitely a 'bad spot.' I don't know. It's silly. I just can't bring myself to get rid of it. I'm not particularly sentimental about my wedding rings. Don't know why. Happily married, just not that much into jewelry.

This has to be one of the sweetest thing I have heard in a long time.

My dog. A million years ago I was in hurricane Andrew. I like my stuff, but it my long-suffering animal that has my heart.

I've thought long and hard but I can't say I have one thing in particular, unless I counted my cat, but he's not really a possession as much as a sidekick.
I'm quite fond of my nail polish collection, my purse collection, my scrapbooks, my Barbies, and some of the art projects my family has made over the years.

Reading all the responses has been delightful! My immediate reaction is nothing--it's all "stuff". But I have sentimental value in almost everything I have, because a lot of it came from family and as an only child, there isn't a lot of family. Luckily, my memories are always with me (until I forget them all, lol)
My grandparents moved around a lot, until my grandmother finally felt comfortable somewhere. They had a house built, and bought a dining room set - cherry finish, with a buffet and a corner china cabinet. I found a payment book from 1939-ish when she started paying Bamburger's $5 a week. I love that set - bought my house with a formal dining room in mind.
But more portable, my mother and grandmother had a matching set of graduated pearls that my grandfather had given them. My neck is way too fat for that lenght, so I had them re-strung together so it's a bit longer. Don't wear it often, but in a fire/emergency situation, they come. And a ring that was my grandmother's as a child.
The scrapbooks if I can take them.
