Just curious. I think mine would be my engagement ring. I had it reset in a new design with smaller diamonds from a ring from my deceased mom.

I will have to give this some thought. I don't have any rings like that - I wish I did. I will be back after I think of the most prized thing.
Editing: I am thinking of the thing I could never replace is my videos of my family. I am currently having the VHS tapes put on DVD and I will keep all of them in one case and that is what I would most hate to lose. There are 2 video tapes of my grandfather where he narrated his life story and we drove around to all the places he grew up. There are my kids growing up, my wedding reception - so many people have passed away and they kind of live again in film.
Because I have decided these are my prized possession, I feel even more determined to get the videos converted so I can keep them all in one contained space.

Same for me...my original wedding ring. We had very little money, and DH picked it out himself. I can't wear it because I shrunk out of it. Not sure, yet, if I can get it resized. I miss wearing it dearly.

Its hard to decide which is the MOST prized possesion. Do my cats count? I guess it would be the desk I had growing up that is made out of sandlewood, or it may be the jade pieces I inherited from mother. Though, it could be my sewing machine that cost as much as a car. Oh gee, what about the stuff I had as a kid 60 years ago? See, I am kinda surrounded by loved possessions.

Hmmmm, I can't really say that I have any prized possessions...I have lots of "things" that I love but nothing that couldn't be replaced. I do love my wedding set but even those are just "things". Hmmmm...I guess my most prized possession is a cookbook my dad put together for me when I moved out east to be with dh. He took the time to type everything out and organize it into a binder in protective sleeves. And he gathered all the recipes from the family. My dad passed away just a few years after I moved and it was one of the last things he gave to me.

I'm drawing a blank. I'm trying to think of what I'd grab in a fire, but I still can't think of any one thing in particular.

Interesting question! I wanted to have a think about it before I read anyone else’s responses. I can’t really think of anything to be honest. I don’t wear any jewellery (except for inexpensive earrings and chunky pendants occasionally). I don’t own any rings. I would have loved my grandmother’s sapphire engagement ring but she gave it to my aunty, which was fair enough. I love my couch. Does a couch count?

That's a tough one......obviously I have my wedding and engagement rings and another couple of pieces of jewellery but then there's things like photo albums, my DDs first pairs of shoes tucked away in their special boxes, my old, heavy, genuine eiderdown.....
Hard to answer!

I have a small ring with a heart shaped amethyst and a tiny diamond accent. It belonged to my grandmother. My grandpa gave it to her as a birthday gift since it was her birth stone. She gave it to me after she outgrew it. And now I love it even more because my husband's birth stone is also the amethyst, so it has a lot of layers of special meaning.

I have a list of what'd I'd take in a fire, which I guess are my most prized possessions. A ring from each of my grandmothers. A vase made by an artist friend given to us for our wedding and a painting painted for us and given to us on our wedding. (I assume I'll be wearing my wedding ring).

honestly, i am drawing a blank here... i love my engagement ring and would be sad if i lost it but the ring could be replaced. maybe my grandmother portrait as a young teen. it's one of those pictures that has painted accents... i love the look of it. it's in a beautiful frame, flat on the bottom with rounded edges but curved on the top, slightly convex glass and cool "wallpaper" on the back of the frame. when i was a little girl i told my grandmother how much i loved it and she said i could have it when i grew up. i told her i was skeptical (!) so she wrote on the back it was for me... and i made her sign it! as an older teen, she gave it to me and said now she knew i had it. (can't find heart smilies to insert here) my kids play soccer in my living room and i kept losing my sh!t that if they broke my grandmother's picture, well there are not enough ways to say "sorry" and that i would cry really hard. i explained it was irreplaceable to me. i thought about that for a minute and decided it didn't belong on our living room for the next couple of years... but i stand by my rule of NO SOCCER IN THE LIVING ROOM!!!

A small little rocking chair that my grandma bought when my mother was born. I dragged it out of the barn after she died and have loved it ever since. We move a lot and it is the only thing I tell the movers I'll slice them over. They usually build it a crate. It isn't valuable, but it is priceless.

hmmmm, this is a hard question.
My guess is my Steve Largent autographed football jersey. My dh bought it for me for Christmas last year and he is not a football OR Seahawks fan. I wouldn't take it in a fire though, it's framed and HUGE. My other item is my Steve Largent rookie football card that my stepdad gave me.
I really don't know if those are my most prized possessions though.

A pearl ring my husband gave me on my first birthday after we were married. He brought a card and attached it to the yarn that was tie on the card. Still have both and him after 45 years of marriage. If I had a fire I'm not sure which one I would take.

My scrapbooks. While I love my engagement ring and the watch my dad gave me, they could be replaced. And I do have photos from many of my scrapbook pages but certainly not all, particularly the early years.

I have so many nice things, but I have to say that I think it must be my grandmother's dishes.
They were the dishes my mother and I grew up eating from, on all occasions both plain and fancy. Hutschenreuther Blue Onion.
Not the most valuable or unique- really memory filled though.

I would have to say my engagement/wedding rings. My husband loved me enough to want to marry me. He picked out and bought this ring for me. Is it the ring I would have picked for myself, NO! but I love this ring because my husband loved me enough to want to marry me and he picked out and bought this ring for me.
I have worn this ring for 20 years proud and happily.
I would never change anything about this ring unless it is to resize it or fix it if it was broken. He gave me the option to take it back and get a different one if I didn't like it. I told him that I loved it because he gave it to me.

What comes to mind is a "cathedral window" quilt that my mama made me using scraps from all the dresses and outfits she made me as a child. It has such sentimental meaning to me. She dated the first square she quilted as well as the last -- it was a ten year labor of love. Not to mention all the memories of the dresses she made through the years. I have many things I treasure, but that quilt is truly irreplaceable.

Coleman lunch pailWhen I was a little girl, I remember sitting at the kitchen table with my Grannie and watching her make my Papaw's lunch for the following day. She would make one bologna sandwich and place it in his dome lid Coleman lunch pail. She would also put in half of one banana, one Coke and one Little Debbie's Oatmeal snack. Lastly, she would take one paper towel and fold it meticulously in half and then in half again. She placed the lunch pail in the fridge so that my Papaw could grab it on his way out the back door at 5:30am to earn a living for his family. So...my most prized possession is not expensive...but it is priceless to me. My Papaw's Coleman lunch pail. I love it dearly. The link above is an example as I do not have a picture to post of it.

After thinking on it a little, I have several things of my mom's that I would be crushed to lose, and some jewelry that was passed down to me from other family members. But if I had to pick the one thing that I use every single day that couldn't be easily replaced, it would be my dad's big oversized chair that I'm sitting in right now. It's from around the 1950's and my parents bought it not long after they were married. I sat on the wide arms of it when I was a little girl snuggling with my dad, and my little girl sits on the arm of it to snuggle with me now. It's been recovered multiple times and I even had my upholstery guy make a matching ottoman to go with it. I will never get rid of it.

My BFF died suddenly of a heart attack 3 years ago. The last few years of her life she made me quite a few things. She hand pieced a valance for my bathroom window, clothes pin bag, table runners, lots of pieced coasters, etc. These items are so precious to me. I loved them when she gave them to me, and I love them even more now.
