L'oreal double extend. I also get raccoon eyes with other mascaras. But, this one is awesome. Washes off with water and makes my lashes look fab. I was just going to post this. This is the only [affordable] mascara I have tried that works for me. It's awesome: Loreal Double Extend
It has never flaked or given me raccoon eyes.

I wonder if your mascara is flaky because it's old. When you open and use it, you are introducing air. Most mascara sa really only meant to last a few months. So even if your tube isn't used up, it's technically lived it's lifespan.
I use Blinc mascara. It's about $20 on Amazon, but I find I really like it. A tube lasts about 6 months for me--I like it drier, actually. It coats your eyelashes with tubes of mascara. I find it doesn't flake at all, Eve if I take a nap.
It comes off with water, but you have to gently rub it. So if you cry or tear up, your ok as long as you don't rub your eyelashes. And it's a little weird when it comes off--it comes off in the tubes and it looks like you just rubbed all of your eyelashes off. I had a bit of a panic the first time I removed it. But it's fine and I think the removal is actually gentler than rubbing my eyes with makeup remover.

I also like Cover Girl Clump Crusher (I get the water resistant) and Tarte's Light Camera Lashes. A couple of times a year, Ulta will usually have it for $10 during their Days of Beauty. That's when I buy Tarte mascara too! I also like Cover Girl Lash Blast in the orange tube. No clumps, no flakes, washes off with my regular face cleanser.

For drugstore brands, I always go back to L'Oreal Voluminous in Blackest Black For department store brands, I like either DiorShow Extase or Urban Decay Perversion.

Not old I bought it used it and a week later I used it again and it was clumpy and it flaked if it was old I would expect that .

Another vote for L'Oréal Voluminous, and also Double Extend. I bought my last tube of Voluminous in London because the mascara I brought with me was not working out and I needed a sure thing.
I switch between those two and Voluminous Manga, which I love but can't wear every day.
I just bought Cover girl Plumpify because I was seduced by the ad and had a coupon. I'm not impressed. No clumps or flakes, but no volume or length either.

I just went down to the chemist to buy some Nivea post shave balm (recommended on the primer thread) and decided to try the Loreal Voluminous suggestion as I have terribly short eyelashes and need some good mascara.
I couldn't find anything called exactly that, but I did find Loreal excess volume million lashes? I wonder if it is packed under a different name here? It comes in a box and the wand is metallic red and silver. Cost $28.
Trying both these recommendations out as I'm going to a wedding tomorrow. I'll return and update how well it works.

The one I keep going back to is Maybelline Full n Soft. Cover Girl Supersizer is getting good reviews by YouTube beauty gurus.

L'Oreal Voluminous Waterproof in carbon black. I get it at Target. This is what I use as well. I used to spend a lot more on fancy brands, but this one works better than any of them for me.

I'm also allergic to lots of ingredients in makeup. I usually use Clinique or Physician's Formula. I can usually find the Physician's Formula at Walgreens.

Maybelline Great Lash. I don't get the waterproof, because I like to just use water and regular cleanser when taking it off. It's my go-to every day wearing mascara! Has been for 30 years!!!
Same here, it's the best-not thick and makes my lashes long. And it's cheap!

L'oreal Double Extend for me too. At the end of the night, it still looks just as good as when I first applied it. I also like L'oreal Voluminous Million Lashes in Carbon or Blackest Black.

I absolutely LOVE L'Oreal Voluminous Original in Blackest Black ... I'm a mascara junkie and this is the best I use this one too, and love it!

Tarte's Lights, Camera,Lashes mascara is on the 21 days of beauty sale at Ulta. In my area it will be in sale on sale for $10 on Saturday . It's normally $24. I'm going to pick some up. Thanks to the previous poster for the insight about a tube aging from the 1st time you open it. That makes sense and I feel like a dunce for not thinking of it before now. ?
