I finally got really tired of wearing bras that don't fit, so I went to Soma this morning and had a fitting and bought 2 new bras. I don't think I have ever spent so much money on an item of clothing that no one besides me and DH is going to see!

It's all about comfort. If they don't feel good or make you look good, take them back.

I don't buy cheap bras but lately I have noticed that the area right below my bust line is *uncomfortable*. Don't know how to really describe it. Guess I need to look for new ones.

If you are referring to the area that I think you are, I think that it might be due to thinning skin. I've noticed in the past few years that that area is very easily irritated and I even had several tears during a mammogram a couple of years ago. It wasn't that the technician was rough or anything like that - it just seems like the skin is more easily damaged and more sensitive.

Thanks, Carla, it's right below my breasts so I think the bottom of the bras must rub or something. I can't wait to take my bra off in the evening and put on my PJs!

I love my Soma bras. I have 2 styles that I love. Not all their styles fit me well. A good bra is worth it's weight in gold.

I had a Soma bra I loved, but they discontinued the style and none of the current styles fit me well.

Considering I've been known to buy a set of 2 bras at Target for something like $10 or $12, that's a lot to me! I tried on 3 or 4 different styles, and one of them didn't fit quite right. The girls are definitely higher in the new bras.

Does anyone have ridges on the top of their shoulder bones from bra straps? I am very slightly built but when I was pregnant/nursing with DS I got to be a 36D. I think that's when it happened. I know you aren't supposed to have the straps hold up your bosom but if the bra is too tight around body, it is awful. As I said in my first post.
ETA: The most expensive bras I ever bought were Wacoal bras from Macys.

I hate Soma bras. Once I wash them, the top edge of the cup rolls out and makes a ridge under my shirts. Every single one has done the same thing. I stick with Le Mystere or Wacoal now.

I have a couple of Soma bras - and the key for me was finding the right style and fit. I love them.
(and I love their pjs. OMG they are so soft!)

There are a few styles that are very uncomfortable while I love two other styles. I have one I ordered online and need to return, I thought it was the style I liked. It wasn't.

I hate Soma bras. Once I wash them, the top edge of the cup rolls out and makes a ridge under my shirts. Every single one has done the same thing. I stick with Le Mystere or Wacoal now. That may be due to an improper fit. I had one Soma bra that didi that and it went back. It was much too big. Even for me! I've worn Soma bras for a while. I'm a 34ddd. I have worn bras that have cost me around $100-125 before because a good fitting bra is worth it to me. I do not, however, like their vanishing back bra or whatever their vanishing bra is called. I prefer the Embraceable and occasionally the enhancing full coverage bras. I even like their full lace balconet bra. If you have any irritation just under your bust line, it could be that your bra is not properly fitted. Same goes or any indentions in your shoulders. Most women wear her straps too tight and her band size too high up and too big. Your bra should actually be lower in the back and actually almost to your waist. This gives a nice lift to "the girls." It takes some getting used to but once you start wearing your bra lower, you will love it. Also, when you are putting your bar on, you need to lean over and put your right hand flat against your back. Using your left hand, scoop your breast out of the right cup and reposition your breast. Then switch and do the other side. That front band should not come directly under your breast. It should also sit a tad lower on your ribs. Again, most women wear their bras way too high. Clear as mud? meredith

I did have a couple that were comfortable years ago, but of course that style was discontinued.
I eschew bras as much as possible. I wear tanks with shelf bras. I have medium sized boobies, and if they're not as high or perky as they could be, I really don't give a hoot.

The other day when I logged into yahoo mail the log in page was a whole page ad for Soma bras. You got 50% off one item. I read somewhere that wireless bras don't give you back fat so I looked into that, but ultimately didn't want to order from a brand I had never heard of and there's no stores in my city.

I'm convince that there isn't a bra to fit me. I have 2 Wacoal that I am a G cup in. I am not even sure that is right. My breasts are mostly located UNDER my arms. I don't think the straps are long enough because they ride up and irritate the crap out of me!
I want a reduction!!!

I wear my bra the way you're supposed to and have been professionally sized, but I have to say that I have a very hard time being comfortable in the size/style of bra the "pros" put me in. The band is often much too tight for comfort. I'm supposedly a 40G.
I would also like a reduction. Someday.

My most favorite comfortable perfectly fitting bras were the Hanes Barely There. Did you notice the 'were' in the previous sentence? Yep, discontinued. The replacement, Hanes Ultimate, has got nothing on the Barely There. My girls aren't very happy. (Oh, and my most favorite undies? Yep, discontinued. I went on a mission and drug DH far and wide to get all I could off the clearance rack!)

A co-worker swears by Soma underwear and for a year tried to get me to buy them (why she cares about my under roos is beyond me. So for Christmas she bought me 2 pair of under roos. Not liking them at all - To each their own though
I did look at the PJ's and I'm thinking about trying them
