I recently tried country in line dancing. I love it! I go any chance I get but the problem is that each club is about 35-40 miles from me. It is so much fun! People are nice to newbies and it's great exercise. DH doesn't go but that's ok, there's always people to dance with and the line dances I can do solo. The two places I go are pretty much strictly country bars so they don't have to mix in the peeps that don't want that. They both offer lessons, one bar has free ones while the other one charges a nominal fee.
What hobbies do you have that you love or at least loved in the beginning?

I like scrapbooking but my life is boring and my kids are average. So there's not much to scrap or say. Maybe I should just make cards.

I still love scrapbooking. And I play in a band which is really fun.
@coilstrand The thing is, though--your kids probably don't feel that way and it's the every day sort of life things that they'll remember. And once they're older, it will all be fun to look back on. Every page doesn't need to be exciting. Some of my favorite pages are just sort of portraits--catching a moment in time.

I really loved to scrapbook. After DS died, it wasn't the same and I lost interest. I do like to color now, but I need to be in the mood. I've had many hobbies that I loved and my other favorites were cross stitch and crocheting.

Quilting. I love getting a pattern and picking out fabrics that will make it just a little bit different. I like watching the quilt come together as I go along. I like that the end product is functional as well as artsy/creative.
I used to love scrapbooking. I packed all of my stuff up for a move and then we moved several times in several years. Now that we are finally settled long term, I'm hoping to get it out and organized and get back into it.

I did the scrapbooking thing and the kids love looking through them but I haven't scrapped in years. I need to pick it back up sometime.

luvnlifelady move to Oklahoma. Freaking country bars, dance clubs are everywhere! Lol I scrapbook also. No kids or husband here. But I always have something going on so usually have plenty of layouts to do. Photography. Love architectural shots, our downtown has some amazing Art Deco buildings. Rural areas have some amazing old barns, churches, and houses that make for great shots. I also do lots of one day road trips with friends or family to places I hear about in my state or neighbor state. Cool restaurants, shops, or attractions. Some interesting times there.

Does playing on my phone and iPad count ? ha If not, and frankly, I think that's most people's hobby; then reading and crocheting. I scrapped for about 10 years obsessively, but mostly make cards now.
Almost forgot - my old obsessive hobby was buying scrapbook supplies !!!

I'm addicted to Trivia Crack. I've played the same random person about once a day for nearly a year and have about tied the series (only done that once before).

I enjoy doing lots of things but reading to me is like air and water. I don't think of it as a hobby as much as I think of it as something essential to my life.

I loved scrapbooking but that morphed into photography which I still love.
I used to love writing fan fiction too. But since I have gone back to work I just don't have the time anymore.

I love scrapbooking but I hardly ever do it anymore. I also liked plastic canvas but holding the little needle bothers my hands because of my carpel tunnel.
I also enjoy messing with my two nephews minds for fun.
ETA: I can't believe I forgot reading. I read all the time. One of my biggest fears is that I'll go blind and not be able to read. I sometimes wonder if I can learn braille now just in case.

I used to love scrapbooking, but I haven't done more than a couple pages in years.
my nail polish "hobby" has lasted much longer than I first anticipated. I haven't had naked nails in almost five years.
I tried geocaching for a time, but after my dog died I felt kind of silly poking around in places by myself.
I color, sketch, and create art projects sometimes, but not often enough to really call those things hobbies. I'm into fitness, don't think that really counts though. I bought a sewing machine and made a couple things last month, but I don't think that will turn into a full blown hobby.
I could use a new hobby!

I did traditional Japanese dancing and I have the grace of an elephant. Yeah pathetic.
I enjoyed tea ceremony a lot and took lessons every Friday night. (Friday???) but yeah that was fun.
I took flower arrangement and didn't do well at that either. I didn't get the aesthetic beauty of simplicity.
I was also an avid stamp collector and enjoyed that a lot. I did that with my dad and enjoyed the time we spent together doing it.

Knitting, scrap booking, quilting, reading, ballet (I have a season subscription and my two oldest take lessons). If I had more time, I would add more hobbies .

Photography - my favorite thing to do is grab my camera and just drive until I find cool things to shoot. I call them my mental health day.

I still love scrapbooking.
Line dancing sounds like a ton of fun. How did you get started? Lessons, friends, etc?

Does purging and organizing my house count? That's what I'm spending the most time on lately. Sewing, quilting and machine embroidery are my main hobbies. I still have scrapbooks to do, but the love just isn't there lately though I still have a huge backlog of photos to get into albums. I've also done photography, but we aren't traveling as much right now, and DD is grown and gone. Since I have so many photos still needing something done with them, there just isn't incentive to take more photos.

My back issues have pretty much ended them--tennis was my lifelong passion and I took up skiing in my late 40s. I also find photography to be a little too physically challenging now--all the bending, kneeling etc. is really hard on my back.

I still scrapbook and make cards on occasion. I still adore hiking and photography. We moved to a rather photographic area so I'm always taking pictures, even if just with my phone (which I switched to from an iPhone as the photo quality was better, ha).
My big thing right now though is knitting. I could seriously do it 24 hours a day. Of course I don't... but I could quite happily.

I tried crochet once and I made a few scarves and that was it. Anything else is too complicated. I wish I could make a afghan or something though!

I have loved so many things but scrapbooking is number one. I absolutely LOVE to scrapbook and do it as often as I can.
In the past I have enjoyed sewing historical garb, making crafts out of repurposed items, decorative folk art painting, and spinning fiber.
I have always enjoyed collecting and have many collections. I also love to read but don't do it as often as I would like because I am a fast reader and I go through books like water.

I've never really thought of reading as a hobby, it's just something I've always done. I could count on one hand the times in my life I have gone to sleep without reading first.
Other than reading I enjoy doing things with my horses. They are old and I'm not a very good rider so we don't get to do much but I have fun with what we are able to do. Years down the line once they are gone if I am able to get a younger horse I would like to try endurance riding. I also recently started a blog about life with horses. Other hobbies would be photography (which has become a business so isn't that enjoyable anymore), scrapbooking, jigsaw puzzles, building and messing with computers, and various arts and crafts.

Scrapbooking is still number one for me. There are so many new things to learn right now, and I'm having fun exploring everything that's out there.
I have probably been into every type of craft or needleart there is at one time or another. My sewing machine broke not long ago, and I'm thinking about getting another one soon so that I can get back into quilting.

Scrapbooking is still my number one hobby after almost twelve years of doing it.
I like to read too (do it all the time).
