I'll admit I looked at the 1st and 293rd page but since I don't know what Studio Calico is, I felt rather lost. Can I get a tl;dr version?

Hahahaha... I'm not even sure how to condense that much drama. I'm sure someone will do it justice.

It seems to be gals who have left (or thought about leaving) Studio Calico and they formed a thread to bond together. I glance through every now and again and they talk about everything - other kit clubs, trends, etc. But they also talk a lot about the goings on at SC, which I don't follow so I don't understand it all.

I peek in every so often, but haven't quite got the grasp of the whole thread, so I'm sitting on the same bench as you.

Here's the synopsis: Studio Calico sucks, everyone is happy to have an uncensored place to chat, Studio Calico continues to suck, there are lots of other great kits out there, Studio Calico REALLY still sucks. I have enjoyed following the drama when I can. There are lots of interesting and talented refugees over there. Some of them have blogs & videos, they do beautiful work, and really know what's current in the industry. Studio Calico's loss! Lots of them are posting on other threads here and on the NSBR, and I'm happy they're here! The more the merrier!

Thank you! Is Studio Calico another message board, a online scrapbooking retailer (paper or digital products), designers, etc? I've never heard of them. As far as scrapbooking supplies go, I use only CM albums, Pioneer top-loading sleeves and I buy paper where ever I see awesome paper, mostly physical stores, but I've also purchased from Basic Grey (RIP) and A Cherry on Top.

This is me, too! Started with CM, substituted top-loading Westrim pages, bought from my LSS back in the day, and now ACOT, Tuesday Morning, and daily deal sites are my main supply source. I wasn't involved in the online community (and design trends) until I discovered Two Peas about a year before they closed. Studio Calico is an online store with kits clubs, design team and online boards similar to Two Peas. Their business model relies heavily on Fear Of Missing Out, and they create demand through extremely limited windows of time for ordering along with supply shortages. I browsed there a couple of times but they were always out of the items I liked so I quit going back. Apparently, their customer service is extremely poor.

I'm an SC refugee and I'm also a pea refugee so maybe I can give you a cliffs notes version. As an aside, I also started with CM, almost 24 years ago, and continue to use some of their products today but I also use just about everything else, too. If you're interested in joining the thread - and I hope you are - skip the first 200 pages, especially if you don't really care about SC. The last 100 pages is more of an indication of what the thread is about now. Many of us, but not all, were subscribers to Studio Calico. About six months ago, many changes were made to the kit club and many of us wanted to talk about those changes but that discussion was not allowed on their message boards, resulting in the banning of some of our favorite members who didn't deserve to be banned. I was already here, and had been since Two Peas closed, as well as a few others and the discussion was brought here where we could speak freely and uncensored. We talk about anything and everything. It has turned into more of a general scrapbooking discussion thread and we welcome anyone who wants to join in. We still talk about SC some but you can just skip over that if you're not interested because there's still a lot of other great conversation that occurs on the thread! ETA: Don't be shy! Introduce yourself and join us!
