LisaDV, I am just amazed at your Sibling Cooking Wars. How old are your children? What an exciting way to teach children about food, nutrition and meal planning. It took me a long time to learn to have everything ready to serve at once. Cooking has never been my forte. In fact, if we could just take a pill each morning and never have to shop, fix, eat and clean up, I'd be satisfied! You are one extraordinary mother! I'm impressed. maribeth, your organizing and working around your house makes me tired. Are you available for hire? Love that you are so excited about getting out into that camper again. I know you will enjoy taking off on weekends. I love your cleaning lady! Just a quick run by tonight. I still have a bunch of unfinished Monday jobs I hoped to finish today. Have a great day tomorrow, everyone.

Good Tuesday Morning Pokeys It's been a while since I posted a quote, so here is the Quote for Today "Action is the beginning of accomplishment. Without it, you have only wasted dreams and good intentions." Author: Chris WidenerI had such a good and productive weekend, it carried through to my Monday workday (which is usually a disaster), I am determined to keep on task, and my plan to accomplish something everyday. At work - GET IT DONE, and quit just wishing I were not there. At home, complete a home task that I keep putting off. Scrafting, work at least 30 minutes each day on a project, or room organization etc. I am participating in Jennifer S. Wilson's Simple Scrapper, Photo Crush program (free) to help organize my digital photos. Have a wonderful Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday! It is a beautiful day today. We had a nice Valentine's weekend and I was spoiled. Plus you know how much I love the NBA so it was fun having all the All-Star basketball events to watch too. After one of the guys made an amazing slam dunk it was so funny to watch my dh jumping up and down in disbelief! LOL! He is so funny! I did make a special mini album for him and it was fun to make. I will come back and share pics. Lisa- Your cooking challenge sounded so cool for the kids. What did they cook? Oh, about my blog... I love it too but have been thinking about trying a new designs. But I will keep it the same unless I can find a better design. Nylene- Are you back to normal since Hawaii? I can't remember if you told us which island(s) you went to but where did you visit? Maribeth- Can you send that cleaning lady over here to my house too? LOL! Happy you got so much done. Are you all still planning on going camping soon? Waving hi to you other ladies!

Hi, kellyr21 , it's nice to hear about your Valentine's Weekend. I'm sure Ron let you know how much he appreciates you. I am back to my normal sinus and cough stuff since returning home. I actually felt better there, but wasn't there long enough to totally clear up this stuff. I will see an allergist on Thurs. and I'm hoping there are some helps offered. We were only on Oahu. We stayed right on Waikiki Beach and it's pretty congested there. Our excursions took us out into the countryside and that was really fun. BTW, I love your blog. I can't believe you have been blogging that long! I remember when you first started. Great job. maribeth , I can see that your "cleaning lady hat" is needed all around the country. Are you planning any trips this direction? LOL! Thanks for the quotes. I love opening the thread and seeing them pop up with your smiling face. Sending greetings to Cindy, Mary Ann, Lisa, Tina, Jana and all the Pokey Peas. Hope you have a wonderful week. ETA: Kelly we were posting at the same time. I love your little album. What a sweet wife Ron has. I left you some love in the gallery!!

Good Afternoon Had a few minutes before I toddle on home to walk on the tread for an hour. kellyr21 - left you some love on your projects. They are great! I love it when you share your work. We were going to go this weekend if the weather stayed nice, but a meeting with the owners for our Water Company (which my husband is involved with) came up. It is an important meeting. We have high levels of Nitrates in our water and our system is so small that we can not afford to put the machinery in place to resolve the problem, so it looks like we are going to have to purchase water from the City. But we will either do a day trip, or may go to town and look through Camping World to see if we can find any fun goodies. nylene - I sure hope you get some answers on your illness. I know this must be making you crazy. You don't seem like the kind of woman that likes to be feeling under the weather. And I wish I was headed in your direction. I would gladly help you clean! But most of all it would be just so great to meet you in person. Have a wonderful evening.

Happy Wednesday!
Quote for today:
"The real secret to success is enthusiasm." Author: Walter Chrysler
Boy does that quote ring true. It is all about staying enthusiastic in order to complete those tasks (whether they be "scrafting", organizing, cleaning the house....), it is finding that enthusiasm in whatever it is that is set before us to accomplish that is the hard part. But once we find it, the task at hand goes smoothly and before you know it you have completed it. Success!!!!!
Have a wonderful day ladies.

Hello to Thursday Pokeys.
I am soooooooooooooooooooooo in the camping mood. But alas we are not going to be able to do our quick trip this weekend as we had hoped one minor mechanical issue that needs to be addressed, and frankly we need one more weekend to fully pack and be ready to go. But I am in the mindset.

Here is hoping we can begin our journeys soon.
Have a wonderful Thursday.

Everyone has been busy scrapping! I searched through the rest of January to current and lots of cute stuff!
I didn't realize it has been as long as it has since I have checked in. I had my PRK eye surgery last Friday and it went well. My vision isn't clear yet which can take a while to be clear. I can see but everything is blurry. My husband has been driving me where I need to be this week. The computer screen is still blurry for me but at least I can make out what it says! I stayed off the computer for a few days till I noticed I was able to read. I return to work tonight and I just hope I can function. I am going to dread the report at the bedside and trying to read our SBAR forms we are to read. My doctor told me that everything is healing as expected and it can take a few weeks before I have clear vision. I have another appointment in the morning with my regular eye doctor to follow-up.
I don't have much planned today since I work tonight. I hope to take a nap but need to get up and do my eye drops also. I hope everyone is doing good!

maribeth, no one would ever believe that you are in "camping mode"! LOL. I hope you can fix your mechanical problem and get away soon. I know you are anxious to be on your way. Thanks for the quote! Jana, knutschen, so glad to hear from you. I wondered if you were able to have your surgery yet. I'm so glad things went well. I wish you well reading your charts and computers tonight. I'm sure each day will add clarity to your vision. Glad things are going well for the newlyweds! Keep in touch. When your vision clears, I hope you get some scrappy time. We need photos! I saw the allergist who tested me and I don't have asthma. That is a great relief. She thinks it is probably allergies but they don't test for sawdust. She set up some testing but because of a dermatology problem, I'm not sure the Dermatologist will want that done right now. At least I feel like someone is trying to get to the bottom of this. DS says the architect will have plans ready for our shop by Friday so we can submit it to the city and hopefully get started quickly. I really think moving all the sawdust out of the house will be the answer. I worked on a layout last night and finished my cards for Card Club. I'll photograph them today and get them posted. If I don't get back on the weekend, I hope you all have a wonderful and relaxing weekend.

Thanks for the inspirational quotes, Maribeth.
I am coming out from under the cold from Hell, but other than a soar throat and some sinus congestion, most of the symptoms have faded away. Still no energy.
Need to wrap a gift and make a card for my grandson who will be here for the weekend and who turns 3 on Sunday. I had also offered to bake his cake, but thankfully his Mom has insisted that she wants to do that.
I have 3 photos on my scrap counter that have been there for almost a week, but no energy to do anything with them. Even though I have a general idea of a plan for the page they will go on. Might get that done this weekend, but will need more energy that this.
Don't have to go to work until Monday, so who knows???

Hello grammadee glad to meet you. Glad you are on the mend, and hope your energy comes back soon. Saw your post on the CalvinBall thread, I didn't have my current password either but I am all set up now. Looking forward to playing along with you for this event in March. Hopefully you can get your in progress pages done this weekend, you can work on it a bit at a time and maybe that will help with your current energy level. Please post or link to your projects so we here at the Pokey's can leave you some love!

Welcome grammadee . We are always happy to have new people join in with the Pokey Peas. You are welcome to pop in as often as you would like and do as many projects as you'd like. The goal is 4 per month, but no one is counting. Tell us a little about you. This made me laugh....I've made those kinds of offers. Need to wrap a gift and make a card for my grandson who will be here for the weekend and who turns 3 on Sunday. I had also offered to bake his cake, but thankfully his Mom has insisted that she wants to do that. maribeth , I had to laugh at your adding the treadmill to your JOYS. Nothing like being positive! scrapincin , hope you are able to dig out from all that snow and cold that has come your way. We had lots of snow and huge winds yesterday but they somehow just skipped over our city and hit all those around us. Some places had over 120 mph winds. Hang in there. We miss you. kellyr21 , what fun crafty thing are you working on now? I am going to help my DD get a baby quilt ready to go on the frames next week and then will help her teach some young girls and women how to tie it. That's about all I have going right now. Sending waves (I'd do it with the emojis but don't know how!) to all of you Pokeys. Keep in touch. ETA: Oops I forgot to post my layout and cards. Happy Friday! Sending you all a warm sunny wave! My day is coming along. I plan to get some crafting going. Yeah, I do have housework to do but crafts come first, right? LOL! I did go to M's on Tuesday for the drawing class and the teacher was a no-show. Not sure what happened but I was bummed. But, it was ok because I loved just browsing through the store enjoying myself. I got a couple of flower stems on sale. So maybe the next time the class will happen. Nylene- You did have a terrific time in Hawaii. My dh and I would like to go at some point too. I went when I was a teenager and we stayed in Oahu and Maui. I love Maui better because it wasn't so crowded. That was such a wonderful trip with my parents and glad we took lots of pics I can still enjoy. Currently, I am painting and want to finish my last window valence. Hope you continue to feel better too. Hugs! Grandmadee- Welcome!!! Glad you stopped by and hope to see you around. Maribeth- Sorry to hear your camping plans got slowed down but sounds like you will be going soon. I haven't been camping in ages and I know you will have fun. Also, thanks for the wonderful card. I love the design and the sentiment. So sweet! Cindy- You good? Hope you are doing ok. Jana- How is married life so far? I am glad you got through your procedure and hope your dh continues to spoil you. You deserve it, girl!

It's Saturday Pokeys, and I am doing the Happy Dance I have been "Poking" around in one of my scrap bins in an attempt to make some pre-made embellishment clusters. I have never had any Flair, so I ordered a 1" circle punch from Stampin Up and the 1" epoxy stickers from Amazon so I could make my own. So I have been sitting here this morning punching out circles and making flair. I am also going to make banners and tags. I am not starting a scrapbook page project this morning, because once hubby gets up and walks the dog we are headed to town (and all the way to the outskirts on the opposite end of town) to go to Camping World and see what goodies we find to start our camping season. The we will stop by the grocery store as well. It will make for a long day of shopping, but we need to get it done so we are ready to go, and not running to the store to pick up last minute items. I will post photos of my DIY embellishments later this weekend. Quote for the day: Dedicate yourself to the good you deserve and desire for yourself. Give yourself peace of mind. You deserve to be happy. You deserve delight. Hannah ArendtI heard this in my lesson today at Jennifer S Wilson's Photo Crush course. Boy dose it fit in with what I am attempting to do with myself or what?. Make your day a wonderful day Pokey's!

Wow Maribeth making flairs! and having pre- made embellishments you are rocking the scrappy place! I cleaned up in my scrappy place and then put Windows 20 on the desktop computer. It does not seem too bad. I had 8.1 on there so just a little difference in it. They have their own browser now too called Edge. I will have to play with that a while as it is different from Firefox. It did not seem to mess with anything else on my computer but I will pull up the Silhouette tomorrow and see how it goes. I have it on my laptop too so if push comes to shove I can still use it. I still do not have my cards posted. Maybe I will do those too. Well hope everyone has a great weekend and I will try to get back tomorrow. It was 67 here today-broke records but tomorrow we are back to winter.

Hi, Cindy, it's so nice to see your happy, smiling face popping up. We miss you when you are busy....how dare you allow LIFE to interfere with 2Peas! Hugs to you and good luck in having some better weather. We were in the 40's today, but no where near 60's. Crazy weather! I hope your Windows continues to work well for you. I am still on 8 and can't get excited about upgrading. You know me and technology. Thank heavens for a Doug!
Maribeth, I think we are on the same wavelength. I have been punching up a bunch of scraps and pairing them together to make some small embellishments. It just seemed like a fun thing to do today. I did use some of them on a quick scrapbook page that I will post when I get it scanned. How was the shopping for camping supplies? I hope your weather stays good and you can get out in that camper soon.
Kelly, I am sorry about your class being cancelled. They should have let you know ahead of time. Glad you got to wander around and get ideas. Sometimes that's as much fun as playing with the papers.
I have a funny for you all. Our daughter, Emily, picks us up in the a.m. to walk the mall. Because we stayed late to Card Club, she texted her dad the next morning that she had been out too late with a rowdy bunch of women, and didn't feel like walking. Steve texted back that she needed to be really careful. Late nights with those women are dangerous. She might find herself involved in paper folding activities and perhaps even addicted to punches! (we have never seen that funny side of him!)
Have a great weekend, everyone. I'll check in the first of the week.

Hi Pokey Folk! I love all your work-- Cindy, I'm going to steal your cards. Kellie, your banner is gorgeous and that mini album is adorable. Nylene, I really love your scrapping style, it's the simple look that I aspire to.
I've been so busy the past few weeks with work that I haven't had a lot of time to update. I spent all day yesterday at a crop hosted by stampbooker (Julie.) It was so much fun to scrap all day long with nice people. I even got five pages done in my daughter's album! I'll post them once I unpack my stuff.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone -- we're having some beautiful spring weather with bright sun. I need to get outside and enjoy it. I have a date with the dog for a long walk.

Just checking in quickly tonight. Hope you have all had a good weekend. Miss scrapincin, you have really been on a card roll. Those cards are wonderful. I love the flip ones and have the die on my wishlist. You do such a great job with them. I left you some comments in the gallery. maryannscraps, it sounds like you have been a very busy lady this month. I know you have several projects all due at once. How are they coming? I'm envious of your all day crop with friends. That sounds wonderful. I'm anxious to see your layouts when you get them unpacked. I finished another page yesterday when I should have been doing cleaning and laundry. They have non-family members in the photos so I'm waiting for permission to post them, or I will blur the faces. I have a whole stack of photos sitting on my desk needing to be done, but my time seems to come in little increments. I am feeling so much better than I have felt since Halloween, though and that helps. I'm hoping I can keep it that way. Be back later!

Happy Monday Pokeys Boy was my weekend busy!!!!! But the camper is basically all packed and ready to go. Jim is still waiting for one part which is suppose to arrive on Wed. If it does not come we can still go, we just won't have the use of the lights inside the RV, but that is no big deal we rarely use them anyway, we use battery powered lanterns most of the time anyway. But, the weather is suppose to turn colder which is a bummer, but he says we are going anyway. Guess I better pack a parka along with those sorts and tees - LOL. scrapincin - Left love for your cards. They are all great. Thanks for the inspiration, and glad to see you back on the the thread. maryannscraps - Looking forward to seeing your completed layouts from the crop. Glad you were able to go to such a fun event. I love getting together with a group and "scrafting". nylene - Looking forward to seeing your page too. So glad you are feeling better I hope that is a sign of things to come, and that your health continues to improve. Quote of the day: “What greater gift than the love of a cat.” ― Charles DickensEvery morning when I get on the computer to chat with you Pokey's my Desmond is either right in front of the computer screen (like he is now), curled up under my feet (where the heater is sitting), or in his little box on my desk. He wakes me up every morning between 3:00 and 4:00 and it is so great, because I hate waking up to an alarm clock. The only negative about us starting our camping for the year, is when we go, we have to leave Desmond alone. He will miss us, and we will miss him. But for his safety it is best. Have a wonderful Monday!

Hey everyone! Long time since I came last here. I miss you and scrapbooking. The last two years had been a bit upside down and I have been working on the clinic, and taking care of my boys. I just came in today and saw every one have been well and active with scrapbooking. I stop by Maribeth blog, and I do agree with her so much. You guys know I begun a good 4 years ago, but I always felt pressured working on my pages and not always thinking it was good enough. My process took me hours of thinking to achieve perfection. But what she said made so much sense to me! Thanks Maribeth for making the blog and helping me to see from a a new angle. Nylene, I am so glad you had a great time in Hawaii. Please post the pics of your pages. I am sure they will be as beautiful as all work you do. Cindy, how are the walks going? Last time (long time) you were taking walks and placing beautiful pics os them. Kelly, I stopped by your blog too. Your work continues to amaze me. You are such a talented artist! I love the Christmas wreath and all Christmas pages you made. They are lovely! I hope I can make time to resume my scrapbooking, keeping in mind what Maribeth (my guru) said on her blog!

Dani B. - Dani - thank you for the kind words on my blog. I am slow in getting it going, but hope you will check in again to see more of my thoughts on scrapbooking. I really love this hobby, and I have encountered so many people who do not even want to consider it because they feel to overwhelmed right from the start. Take a newbie into a scrapbook store and you will see what I mean. They have no idea where to start. I hope you will be able to get back into scrapbooking and will share you work with us here on the Pokey Pea thread.

DANI, DANI, DANI! Dani B., So nice to see you. I have wondered how you are doing and if things are looking up for you. You said you are looking after your boys. Did I know you had more than one? I thought you only had one. How old are they? It's wonderful to "see" your pretty smiling face. I am thrilled that you found maribeth's blog. She does a nice job of explaining why she thinks scrapping is important. Sometimes it can get so overwhelming that you don't have time or don't have the desire to do it. I hope you get some time to do a little scrapping or something else that you enjoy. I'm sure there are a lot of preparations going on in your country as you prepare for the Olympics. The 2002 Winter Olympics were held here and suddenly every road was under construction and everyone was busy making everything look "pretty". But the good thing was that we were left with wonderful roads, a rapid transit system and other improvements that would not have been done for many years. Keep in touch!

But the good thing was that we were left with wonderful roads, a rapid transit system and other improvements that would not have been done for many years. Keep in touch! nylene , I have 4 boys (3 adolescents + hubby). They are a handful. There is a good side to it. I am the queen of the house! They are 22, 16 and 14 years old + hubby with 51. But sometimes he behaves more as a kid than the boys. My youngest just went through surgery. You see, he was a very premature baby when he was born 14 years ago at 29 weeks of pregnancy. He weighted less than 2 pounds (30 ounces) and stayed at the hospital for almost 2 months. He is a fighter, and the only disability he got from being so tiny is having a mild paralysis on his body left side. So he steps on his left toe, and he has less coordination and strength on his left hand. Since he was a baby he went through physiotherapy and OT. He had no learning disability, quite contrary he is at the honors student list. He went through surgery, and this was a major orthopedic one, to correct his foot, and wrist. But because of the complexity of the surgery he has to be at home for 2 months without setting his foot on the floor. If he does so, he might loose the surgery benefits. He is so upset on missing school. But on wednesday I have a meeting there, and they are planning on sending him some work to compensate his absence. My mother in law came to help me this week since hubby is at Panama city working the whole week. My two other kids are helping me a lot too. Rio de Janeiro is really getting prepared for the Olympics. As you said, a lot of construction going on. I haven't got tickets yet. Do you believe it? My father and brothers as my in laws live in Rio, while we are far away from the beach living in Sao Paulo. I miss Rio very much. But we have to live where our work is. At least for now. Someday I dream going back there. Who knows? Well, my last patient for tonight is here and I have to go. I promise to comeback soon! I love the group, and I was missing you guys! <-----This is Andre. My oldest. <---- This is Antonio. The middle one. <---- And this is Pedro.

Happy Monday! We had a nice weekend especially yesterday. We went to one of our favorite parks and it was a beautiful day. I will be working on my curtain and maybe it will be done today. I hope! LOL! Also, I made a new art show video of art I made last year and I will be posting it today. I will let ya know when. Dani- So great to see you!!!! Yes, no perfection required in crafting. Just play, fun and exploration. I hope you can find your joy in whatever crafting you choose to do. Just have fun I say. I hope you all are getting ready for the Olympics and hope it brings lots of jobs and opportunities there too. Thanks for visiting my blog too. Nylene- You are feeling better and I am so happy to hear that. Whatever you did keep doing it. Cindy- What awesome cards you made! I am off to leave you some praise. Are you missing football already? Hello Pokeys! We are back from Grand Rapids and the GI. The Dr. thinks it is migraines. He said little kids get nausea symptoms before head ache symptoms. And recently she has been getting headaches frequently with her tummy aches. They've started her on an antihistamine. Crossing our fingers that it works. But it still doesn't address the triggers. So we still have much work to do there. But we had a great time. My MIL lives an hour from there, so she came and spent Wednesday afternoon with us and went to dinner that night and DD & I went swimming. Thursday the kids & I just went to the mall and walked around. Friday after DD appointment we went to their public museum and swimming. Saturday we saw Kung Fu Panda 3 before heading home and picking up the dogs. Fun was had by all. And DD & I had sushi 3 days in a row!!! (she only gets the cooked fish) Sushi is probably my favorite food. kellyr21, loved your banner and mini album! Sorry to hear that your teacher was a no show, I was hoping to get your opinion on the class. grammadee, welcome to the Pokey's. I think that cold has made it's way around the country. It was nasty. Both of my children had it. Hope you're better now. nylene, love your layout and cards. Don and his whole side of the family are Fish Crazy! I'm going to go look for those stickers at my $1 store and copy those cards. And as for the cooking wars, the kids (13 & 10) have always been in the kitchen with me. DS kind of lost interest a few years ago, but can do the basics. We all love food, good food and junk food. scrapincin, love your cards. and jealous of the 67 degree weather. maryannscraps, you've been busy. Looking forward to seeing your pages. Dani B., Hi, nice to meet you. I'm newer to the Pokey Peas. maribeth, loving the quotes. You seem to be on quite the roll. You're giving me motivation to get things done here as well. knutschen, hoping that you are healing quickly.
