Well, good. I thought you were going to say Christmas. It's way too soon to think about Christmas. For me anyway. 'Cuz that means winter. And snow. And cold. And we just got done with all that stuff not too long ago. But Halloween is doable.

Doesn't surprise me. I was in Michaels the other day and they have a lot of fall stuff out already.

Doesn't surprise, but I'm already planning my Halloween decorations. I'm going with a Wizard of Oz theme and the flying monkeys might take a bit to figure out.

I saw a sign just up the road from me at Fox House in Sheffield stating that Christmas bookings were now being taken. Eeek.

I don't mind seeing holidays early at stores like that or the craft stores as I know people like to get ready early. What I can't stand to see are the Back to School signs and we still have a month of summer vacation to go!

I've just got back from a big shopping mall about 20 miles away and was stunned to see a card shop there has already got Christmas wrapping paper, bags, boxes and cards out! I know some people have to post internationally and need to have things before the beginning of December but it's still a little early for that, it's only July!!

Yes, I saw Halloween and Christmas out in stores too. Last night at Michael's they told me their full Halloween collection will be put out on Monday. I love Halloween so I was excited, but I looked at the prices of some of the display stuff and they were so high! $7.99 for a glittered key about 4 inches long. I mentioned the high prices to the cashier and she smiled at me and said "How do you think we can have so many 40% off sales?". I guess that is just business, but I will be making a lot of my own decorations this year.

Double eeek!! ETA: I'm all for craft things being available though, it takes a while to get sorted with those items.

I just got some stuff out to start my Christmas cards, of course, I make my own.
Also thought about Halloween - I do a Honey Ho Ho thing at work - which means making 100+ of something. Haven't decided just what yet.
So I am one who likes to see things or at least craft things early.

My Hobby Lobby had tons of Christmas stuff on display when I was there Thursday, and fall decor was on display and on sale.

School start tomorrow, Halloween is the day after, Thanksgiving in a few days, Christmas in a week, RIGHTTT? Time flies so fast. Best get started NOW!
DGD (6) cannot make up her mind between being Elsa or Snow White. I think she has multiple personality disorder at Halloween. I think she just wants two costumes. So Grammy is making both this year. I have to get started now. She does usually go to several Halloween events so having the two is no problem, besides, I love to spoil her!

I can see why the craft stores start early but all the other stores are just ridiculous. I think Hallmark starts with ornaments in June or something like that.
I also understand the back to school stuff early because if you have a few kids it gets expensive and it's good to start early.

I am so tired of stores rushing us through every season. God forbid I might need something for summer while we are actually in the season because all of our stores are all on clearance and back to school stuff is already out. School doesn't start here until after Labor Day. Last year was DD's first year in preschool and we went shopping for supplies a week or 2 before. Target was cleared out of nearly everything we needed. Why can't we shop for fall things in the fall and summer things in the summer? Ugh, so annoying.

Some schools here started back last week and some are starting this coming week. Wal-Mart has class supply lists and all the back to school stuff is out. I was there today to grocery shop and it was a mad house! I believe our tax free days are August 1-3 so there will be a lot of school shopping done then as well. A major dept. store here is putting a lot of summer stuff on clearance with an additional % coupon off so now is the time to buy summer things.
