I thought the whales/anchors/light houses trend was over but I just saw MME has a new line with these (and I admit I kind of like it).
I am not seeing as much ombre or pastels lately but I haven't been keeping up...
So what do you think the next trendy color/theme/style is going to be?

I actually think pastels are going to make a big comeback since the color of the year was baby blue and baby pink.

@breetheflea I am not a fan of pastels either. I'm a brights person. I can barely deal with working in just neutrals, pastels will totally derail me. ha!! But I do like some gold.

I have no idea. I mean, I never saw chandeliers and pineapples coming, so maybe it's .. steering wheels? Toenails? Yosemite Sam? Washcloths?

I think it will be an animal. I'm keeping that vague so I have a better chance of being correct.
Love me a fox. I could take many more years of them.

I think it will be an animal. Zebras already seem to be a "thing"! At least they're black and white! As they say, there is nothing new under the sun...

Swans, y'all. I'm not even kidding (wish I was - ha!). I've already seen them making their way into product.

The latest animal is the swan... Along with lips is the hand drawn looking eyes...I HATE those...the new mustache, perhaps? I think they look creepy. Crate Paper Hello Love has some, not a fan.
People will laugh at me, but I suspect buttons will be making a comeback soon. Also messy, eclectic, doodle-y pages. (This is a prediction, I have no inside info, just a feeling I have).
Silver and rose gold (copper) will replace yellow gold to an extent.

Eye glasses and beards- you know, the hipster look. Mustaches are out, beards are in.
I wouldn't use them in my scrappy projects, though.

I love swans - there are several layouts I could use them for from Swarovski crystal to the swans in Vienna.
I'm not good at predicting trends though.

Oh and also gingham is coming into fashion again...I am starting to suspect a bit of a homey/homespun look is a possibility as well.

Hedgehogs, deer, and zebras have been done to death. I could go for some nice hyenas or honey badgers. Seriously, though, I'd love to see gingham. And a lot less gold. I'm also not interested in pastels.

I think we are about to see an explosion of succulents & cactus. There are already some on the scene but I predict that they will be everywhere by summer.

I'm predicting more artsy, hand-drawn doodly kind of designs, more watercolor, and ethnic/exotic kind of looks. In general, artistic and handmade styles.
Some of us may not have liked the newer BG lines, but I'm guessing they were ahead of their time.

impearia I think so too. I was out clothes shopping today and there is so much aztec going on. Ugh. lol I wish we would see more black/white gingham, fresh florals, and more silver.

Silver and rose gold (copper) will replace yellow gold to an extent. Oh I hope so - Copper/Rose Gold are my favorite. Even our wedding bands were rose gold.

I am really ready for the emoji trend to pass. The SB industry has ruined them for me! I'm still in love with all of the metallics, however.
Swans are new. And birds of all kinds are showing up everywhere.

If honey badgers, with or without the hyaenas and zebras mentioned, are in, you will all need to come over here on safari so you can take photos to match those themed papers and little old me will be ahead of the wave Drinks are on me, let's crop!

I am happy about the swan trend and I love a pretty gingham. I think we might see a Southwest trend. I really hope we don't see the trend of 1980's chickens. I never want to see those chickens again. My Mother traumatized me over this.

Just a wild guess, but I think maybe the style will swing back from the minimalist (PL) to full blown "fill your pages with a ton of product so we* don't all go under" style.
(we* being scrapbooking companies)
