I've asked in the past but thought I'd start again, let's see your hair with pops of color! I think I'm getting color like this this weekend...

For me personally I'd never be able to stand the fading, but I wouldn't want to put in the time to keep it fresh, either. So it's not for me.
I really don't like the look of green faded hair, reminds me of seaweed.
But I really like it when it's done right, and I especially like pink and purple on the right person.

I like the picture you posted. I have thought about getting some color in my hair but then I feel like I'm too old for it. I would like some pink in my hair.

Never too old...I'm 42 and hit a point where I think, life's too short, if u want it do it, it can always be changed. Part of me is concerned about the color teal will fade to tho. ..

I need to take a photo of my hair colour right now. I normally do a more auburn red, but this last time my hair is much more ginger with light caramel highlights.
Right now my highlights are very gingery strawberry blonde. My dh loves it. He took photos of my hair when I first had it done. It's a lot lighter now.
He would have a hissy fit if I dyed my hair a strange colour. He doesn't have a lot requests about how I dress or do my hair, so I like pleasing him.

We are the same age. I have seen women older than us with color in their hair. I'm just not that brave. People already think I'm strange I guess I don't want to give them even more to talk about.

We can only have "natural human hair color" at work. It doesn't have to be our own color, just one that a human could believably grow.

I got pink highlights last night! But my hair is pretty dark and I didn't put them on the top layer but spread throughout so you can only see them when my hair is curled or it moves. Because my hair is dark my girls think they look more reddish rather than pink. I wanted hot pink but she just couldn't get it there. She said we could try a different brand next time.

Ps- I don't have problems with unusual hair colors or nail colors. It's just hair! It'll grow out or you can change the polish.
I also let my girls get random colors in their hair. They get a lot of compliments on the bright purples, etc.

My dd gets colored streaks in her hair. I thought the grow out would be bad, but it's actually hardly noticeable. It just gradually fades back to her normal color. The blue streaks last the longest.
Here is a picture a few months later after she had the colors re-done and went with more blue.

I absolutely love it on teens and tweens, ambivalent to judgey on mid-life colorist. Deep down its prob my shortcoming because I'm constantly debating a return to full time.

I'm 51 years old and will occasionally add 'color pops' to my hair with clip-in colored extensions. It's cheap, easy, not permanent and allows me have a little fun with my hair when I'm in the mood for it.

My hair is white and I have burgandy stripes. I am almost 60, but not too wrinkled up yet. Love the reactions. The weirdest ones are from gals a bit older than me. "I have to ask - how DO you get that in your hair?" Uh, my stylist does it. "OH!" One just pointed and giggled. It was strange. I laughed with her, kind of afraid not to.
The coolest thing is younger people. "I LIKE your hair!" is the usual, only it's kind of like they are surprised that they do!
It's different and it lasts and lasts, thanks to the white hair, I guess. My kids like it (even the teen) and hubs loves it - it was his idea.

I bought some temporary blue color to do soon. I've been wanting to have colored streaks for a while. With my dark hair it means bleaching first usually.
I'm going gray quickly. Maybe I should just embrace it and do colors.

I like the picture you posted. I have thought about getting some color in my hair but then I feel like I'm too old for it. I would like some pink in my hair. According to my DS it's better to wait until your 'actually old' and have gray hair 'for real' to get some light purples and blues because as the fade they appear gray and if I do it now when I'm not actually old it wouldn't be good cause I'm 'bad' at getting my hair done 'on time' hahahaha ha I loled at that. As if he's a fashion guru or something. But he was right my DD's light purple and her blue both looked gray when they faded and he's also right that I wait to re color my hair until I need a hair cut. I was just happy to hear I'm not 'actually old' yet and I went with a red auburn. Mostly because I didn't want to deal with the bleaching that would be required to do lavender. But some day I'm going to do it. I'm going to be that 'actually old' lady with bright purple hair. ( yeah I know gray hair holds color differently but I don't think my DS knows lol )

I LOVE pops of hair color. I am currently on a weight loss journey and I have that as my one goal for when I hit -40. I love pink and turquoise! Let's hope I hit it by mid summer at the latest.

If your hair is dark then you would probably need to bleach some of the natural colour out first to get that pink or hot pink to show.

Screw them, let them talk. It's just hair. Do what you want, what you like. And when your done with that look you do something else, no biggie it's just hair. You'll be surprised at the confidence lift you can get from it. I know I did. I finally got the courage to 1st go back to what's now my natural brown and 2nd go to a deep reddish color. I adore it, it's me. Oh and everybody is 'strange' lol better word is unique because if we were all the same it'd be boring!!!

I have yet to see someone IRL who has hair that looks as good as the pics people post here. Usually I see people when the hair is extremely faded and the color is generally on the top of the head and it looks pretty tacky. I like Gennifer's--the color is nice and I like that the color is subtle and at the bottom, not all Over.

This is what I'm waiting for, and at 49 I'm well on my way. I keep telling my DD (5) that I'm going to get the white hair dyed pink "once enough of it is white" LOL. Last week she said, "Mama, it's white enough NOW." Gee thanks... I think!

I generally like this look on other people, but it's just not for me. I'm the same way about a lot of the nail art. I love to see it on others, but it just doesn't fit my "style." Gennifer -- That's gorgeous!
