That I tivo'd from HBO, and I forgot just how achingly beautiful both Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino were in those movies. Oh my! Sigh....

One of my favorite scenes where Mchael looks great is when He visits Frankie Pentangeli after the compound in Nevada gets shot up. He yells "IN MY HOUSE! WHERE MY WIFE SLEEPS AND WHERE MY CHILDREN COME TO PLAY WITH THEIR TOYS" and then he sits in the chair and crosses his legs. Classic Mchael Corleone move.

I saw that it was on, but the 7-hour commitment looked daunting! DH watched it for a bit, and liked the edit. It would be nice to see it all as one big story. Maybe I'll DVR it for a rainy weekend.

I watched part of it last weekend loved seeing scenes I hadn't seen before. My father is a HUGE fan, so I called to tell him to check it out. He called me back 3 times to say "Whoa! I never saw that before! That wasn't in the original!" It was fun.
For those interested, it's definitely better if you've seen the originals first. While this chrono version is interesting, part 2 is much better in it's original format (imo). Plus, if you haven't already seen it, who can sit for 7 hours straight? Even if you have the time, we need snax! And to pee!
Loved what I saw, though. Hoping they put it on DVD.

I walked in from a crop a couple of weeks ago and DH had it on. I sat down and finished watching what was left that night.
I agree with you on Robert and Al but I have a thing for Robert Duvall. There were just moments in those movies and he was so good looking.
Too many moments of the movies to pick my favorite lines or parts.

Godfather I and Godfather II are my all-time favorite movies.
My one claim to fame is that I am friends with a man who produced all three Godfather movies. He got tired of Hollywood life and moved back to Oklahoma, where he is from. I got to know him through a friend of a friend, when we were still living in Oklahoma.

Yes! I am enjoying it much more as one big story - and they have included scenes that never made it into the released movies, which really add to the story. I only made it through 2 hours last night, and will continue on tonight, and probably again on Monday.

I've always had a thing for older men, which was made evident when I fell in love with Al Pacino in 7th grade. Love those movies!

Wait til I tell my dad I 'know' someone who knows one of the producers, lol. He'll flip. They are his all time favorite movies. He can quote the first two verbatim. It's actually annoying to watch w/him.

Elaine, is this the one that is in chronological order, rather than episodic order? We watched 5 hours worth on Christmas day and I loved seeing it that way. Unfortunately, I spent the next week quoting scenes. Couldn't stop myself.

My husband was away all week on travel and as I am typing he is watching the first three hours to catch up to me so we can watch the rest together. He just turned to me and said how much he likes it edited this way. It really makes clear and highlights the making and motivation of Vito. For those without TIVO/DVRs, if you have the HBO Go app on your tablet, computer or Apple TV, it is available to stream on demand.

He's even got his answering machine message of him 'doing' Vito saying, "This is Don Corleone *Twisted*. I'm not available right now. But if you leave me a message, I'll make you an offer you can't refuse." Cracks everyone up. You've probably already seen this, but just in case, here's a site for the screenplay. There are other ones where you can download it as a pdf, too.

Going over to that screenplay now to quiz myself on my lines...
