I didn't see another thead - but recall that there are a bunch of people who enjoy Shimelle's classes and workshops ... So -- she is having a sale this weekend on her workshops and classes --- check her blog for specifics .... but ReMix, Hitchhiker's Guide and Ready, Set, Scrapbook are all on sale.

Thanks for sharing. I will have to check it out. I took Hitchhiker's Guide at Two peas and liked it.

Any input on the classes? I am trying not to spend right now, and have other sources of inspiration. Is it something that comes highly recommended?

I like Shimelle's look ... and I can do some of it (I don't use nearly as much pattern for backgrounds!). She has a good process -- and a good ability to explain why she is doing something. Her voice doesn't annoy me -- she does have a bit of a tendency to go roaming off on speaking tangents -- but my brain does that as well (I just don't verbalize those tangents!) Much of her stuff is similar because her processes are very much the same and she uses a lot of similar "starting points"
I have always found "value" in her classes -- and I think she stays very grounded on her pricing structure. I've only looked at 2 prompts and 1 and 1/3 of the videos -- but I'm finding less substance, so far, in Hitchhikers. I think, of the 3 currently of sale, ReMix is a good background. But, you have to enjoy what Shimelle's pages look like to start with.

I have the Remix class which is focused on using paper collections. There are about 20 prompts, each using a different collection with about 3 or 4 layouts made using that collection plus other supplies from her stash and 6 or 8 videos that discuss one of the prompts in more detail and includes a walk through as she creates one of the lo's for that prompt.
It should be noted that quite a few of the collections were old when the class was created and she does discuss how to take those last few sheets of paper from a collection you love and mix it with your current stash to create pages you love.
Each prompt looks at a technique for mixing papers such as creating layers, backgrounds made with 4 6x6 papers or other variations on quadrants, working with florals, mixing white and cream based papers, creating pages with one/two/three/all the colours. She also talks about how to choose papers to go with your photos and how different options with completely different styles could work for your page.
If you've watched her Glitter Girl videos there won't be anything particularly new or revolutionary in this class. That said if you struggle with mixing patterns or would like to have a dedicated resource to the ideas she discusses in the GG videos then this class might suit you.
I certainly have no regrets on buying this one. I've been working my way back through the prompts since late last year and trying to make a page for each of the topics.
