I'm not sure what dd#1's plans are as she and her best friend were baking in the middle of the night and haven't surfaced yet I'm hoping that it will just be dh and me and we will get take out burritos ... I haven't had them in awhile and I looooove them What's on your menu tonight?

I'm attempting to make my first chicken pot pie! It doesn't sound like much but I feel that I'm much better at baking than cooking. My son happily ate the fish and homemade chips I made last night so I'm hoping the pie turns out ok too.

I bought beef tips at Trader Joe's yesterday, so I need to figure out what to do with them.

Fried mackerel, potatoes, sour cream and cucumber salad.....the kids wolfed down their dinner, so I will probably put it on the menu once a month from now on. I'm not a fan of fish (I grew up with a dad who loved fishing, so I have eaten more than enough fish in my life), but mackerel is tolerable.

Tri-tip roast using an old recipe from squillen . Paired with a green salad and a vegetable. And yummy tri-tip sandwiches tomorrow for lunch.

Last night, we went to the new pizza place. While it seemed a bit pricey, it was the best pizza that I have eaten in years and years. I get so sick of pizza because the kids want it all the time. I got a huge salad that was loaded with good stuff. However, I ate a small piece of pizza and wanted more. The crust was perfection - super crunch on the outside and fresh and soft on the inside.
I have no idea what to fix tonight. Maybe chicken. We haven't had it this week. I have lots of work today, so it depends what I get done. Back to it.

I have no idea. Dh took me from the airport to pick up my car from the auto body shop where they worked magic while we were away (we were hit a few weeks ago, no one was hurt). I went directly to urgent care where I've been waiting for an hour with a room full of people to be seen. Hopefully only another 30-45 minutes. I'm afraid I have strep I'm hoping Dh will go out to church and dinner with his brother and sister in law as we usually do on Saturday night. I'll be happy with a can of Campbell's chicken noodle soup.

Not a clue! My husband is taking me on a weekend getaway and he has planned the entire thing himself. It is all a surprise for me celebrating my recent success at work. We leave in about 3 hours for a 2 hour drive up north! I'm so excited, I knew I married a wonderful, romantic man.

It's take-out night here. I heard talk of Chinese, so that's what we're having for dinner. Since I don't have to cook today, I have a batch of applesauce in the crockpot and have spent the day packaging up everything I cooked during the week and stashing it in the freezer. My family doesn't mind eating leftovers, but they want them about 2 weeks after round one.

I am making roasted veggies as we speak. It is my new comfort food. I use herbes de Provence as a seasoning. Here is a picture:

One of my faces tonight - stir fry veg with a baked salmon fillet flaked into it. Some chilli sauce and a bed of rice and we're good to go

Its looking like frozen lasagna and garlic bread.. I've had a headache since Thursday morning so anything difficult just isn't going to happen. I just took a claritin which I just bought this morning, hoping it'll work-nothing else has.

Goodness! So many of our Peas not feeling bright-eyed & bushy-tailed! Feel better all! It's Saturday, so it's pizza nite in the Twisted household. All four of us will actually be home - a rarity - so I'm thinking we me get calzones instead. Not much different, but a little change from our typical weekend menu.
