Do you have a dedicated space set aside for scrapbooking? I have a small spare bedroom that I use for my scrap space. It is on our main floor and really convenient for being in and out throughout the day. It's a great location for me. I know when I had to drag everything out and put it back away every time I wanted to make something I got a lot less done. Do you have your own space? Are you like me and like being close to the action or do you want to be tucked away further from the rest of the house?

I like to be in the middle of things, not tucked away. I could be in our lower level, but I have chosen to use one end of the LR. We never use out LR anyway.

My living room is my dedicated scrap space. I have to pull out a 6 foot folding table and set up die cut machines. It isn't too bad. I prefer to have a room with a door because I can't leave my stuff out.

I digi scrap, so I'm in the thick of things in the LR with my laptop or where ever. I also have a crafty room (spare bedroom) that has all my card making stuff.

My scrap space is in our basement kitchen. It gets a bit cold down there in the winter, but I love having my own oasis like that. Plus, it has a sink, so it's easy for me to clean up when I use paints, etc.

I have an open loft area at the top of our 2nd story. It doesn't have a door, but my kids are big so no worries about leaving projects out.

I have a teeny tiny bedroom. It's really kind of worthless as a bedroom size-wise, so it makes a better office or craft space or play room or something. If I want to be in the thick of things or closer to where DS wants to play, I just bring my laptop down and edit photos or get an online photo order ready to go.

I'm currently in an office off the living room. Even though it's off the living room, I still feel far away so I only come in here if no one else is home or I really need to get something done. Otherwise, I'll take things up to the media room or into the kitchen so that it isn't *too* quiet.

I used to get annoyed he'd be playing video games on his computer in the other room when I was in the living room and I'd have to go in and say "whatchya doin, HUH?" But now I just lean my chair back into his chair and ask or watch over his shoulder. He LOVES that!

I have my own space, it's a smaller bedroom upstairs. I invite DH to come in there when he is working on his computer. We like each other's company, sometimes we will just sit in silence and work while other times we will listen to a podcast together. I do plan on building a bigger, square table over the summer so we both fit at the table a bit more comfortably.

My space is in a small office near the kitchen. I like that it's on the first floor of the house. I was originally going to use the third floor (finished attic) but realized hauling stuff up and down the stairs to go to crops was not something I wanted to do.

I have a spare bedroom on the main floor of the house which is right next to the bathroom (so convenient for clean up). My house is older so this room doesn't have a built in wardrobe which makes it perfect for a shared office/craft space. Aside from being south facing so not getting a lot of sun it's perfect because I'm close to the rest of the house and I can run in and out while I'm cooking dinner if I'm working on a project.
The only little people in my house are the cats who are (mostly) good about not getting on my desk so I can leave my projects out.

I have a dedicated space in a room designed as an office/study i.e. it doesn't have a built in wardrobe so can't be called a bedroom. It's small but works fine. I used to craft on the dining table and it was a pain having to cart stuff around all the time. Now if there's a mess, I can just leave it and close the door

I took over the family computer room once everyone got laptops and good wifi. It's the best of both worlds because I can leave everything out, but it has an open loft so I can see the living room tv and hear what's going on downstairs. I love finally having my own studio.

My husband is a saint. He gave up the room at one end of our ground floor (just a small step down from our living room) which was the pub with a pool table in it for my scraproom it has three windows and a sliding glass patio door so I look out onto our trees and rocks. To be fair, his workshop and hobby areas beat the scraproom several times over in terms of sheer size, but I have the best location! ETA: my office is upstairs, a lot more tucked away, which is exactly as I like it.

I have a little spare room upstairs. There is a stairway at the end that goes to the finished attic space, and a door to close it off. I love it. DH goes to bed much earlier than me, so I can scrap upstairs with my movie while the house is quiet. I love being able to keep stuff in one place.Sometimes I'll grab a tray of stuff and work in the family room. I'll glue together cards or make some embellishments -- that doesn't take wet stuff or machines.

Mine is in the guest bedroom just off the family room. I share half the space. I like being downstairs near the action. It's easy to pop in and work on something in between taking care of things in the house.

My hubby converted our single car garage into my craft room. I do share with the extra fridge freezer and the central heating boiler. It's currently housing his two bicycles as there has been a spate of garden shed break ins locally.

I have two over flowing ( but organized) shelves in my dining room with my stuff and I scrap on my coffee table in the living room.

I have a smallish room in the basement and I adore it! Our basement is half above ground so there's some natural light - not a lot, but enough that I don't feel like I'm locked up in a basement and on dreary days my two OTT lights help. The basement was once used as a two-bedroom apartment so it's got a full kitchen and bathroom and my daughter's room is down here too so I'm not alone very often. Years ago before I had this space I had to scrap at the dining room table and I had zero room for storage. I had to pull everything out when I scrapped and put it all away when I was done. And forget me having a die cutting machine and all the supplies that I have managed to "accumulate" over the years... so I absolutely love my space. Not only can I leave half finished project out but I also have dedicated areas for my Cameo, Vagabond, Minc, Selphy... and I find it a lot easier to use these things if I don't have to dig them out and hook them up. I wouldn't trade my scrap space for anything... except a bigger room!

I can be in and out easily.

Do you have a dining table in the room also? I never seem to have enough flat surfaces to spread stuff out.

We have one that always wants to lie in my scrap box. He wedges himself in and of course wrinkles everything. He loves it so much that I don't always shoo him out. Actually, I just bought another box for scraps. I just need to find a safe place to put it.

No dining room table. I have a couch, a bench and bookshelves. I spread stuff out on both of them. The bench is moved to the kitchen when we need extra seating for guests and the couch sleeps grandchildren, too. The desk is actually a dining room table that dh got at a thrift store for me. It's a very good size for scrapping.

I just cleared my table top somewhat so I could fit on my laptop and watch The Walking Dead. Usually I just listen to music, but really wanted to scrap and continue the TWD marathon that started today. Netflix to the rescue. Attachments:

I have an armoire from The Original Scrapbox that's in the dining room. When we eat dinner, it takes me about 20 seconds to shove my stuff to the back (I work on a mat, so I just push the whole mat to the back of the work surface - I don't have to disturb the project in progress), flip down the desk, and fold the doors closed. I'm right next to the kitchen, so not far from any action. The only disadvantage is not being "face out" into the room - if kids are doing homework or someone is using DH's computer (his desk is also in the dining room), I can't keep a close eye on them. If I'm scrapping with friends, I sit at the dining table with them, of course. But the armoire is awesome because when I'm at its desk, everything is within arm's reach. It's my Happy Place, for sure!
