My husband and I both have our hobbies (his is fly tying for fly fishing) set up in our children's playroom/schoolroom.
This way, we can all be together, hanging out but working/playing independently as well. We're weird though, and don't ever get too sick of each other, haha. I have one folding table to work on and all my supplies are either on the wall above it or on it. I have to run a tight ship with my supplies so it doesn't overwhelm the small space.
I like it though, during the week I can be in there creating while my daughters play or work on their own art projects and school work. It's easy to step in and out of to get a moment of scrapping in between daily tasks. It's the biggest bedroom in our house, but our house is on a smaller side and all one level.

I wouldn't trade my scrap space for anything... except a bigger room! I agree! Our cats love my room. We have one that always wants to lie in my scrap box. He wedges himself in and of course wrinkles everything. He loves it so much that I don't always shoo him out. Actually, I just bought another box for scraps. I just need to find a safe place to put it. One of the cats has her bed in my scrap room and is almost always in there but she's happy just to sit on the couch and watch me. The other cat likes to "help" by pulling everything out of any drawer I open and I've had the odd occasion where I've just had to leave the drawer open until she decides to get out of it.

I have the whole basement to myself. It's got two daylight windows on the north wall so I have natural light on the side by my desk and work tables and no windows on the south side which is nice for storing paper, fabric and anything else I don't want to get faded. I love my space but would love it more if it was cleaned up and organized, LOL. I'm working on it but it's taking forever to get everything figured out. I feel like I'm kind of in limbo with it because whenever I'm down there working on that I feel like I *should* be doing something else.
I don't mind being in the basement because it's a huge space with loads of storage that has enough room for my friends to come over to scrap/craft, or DD can be down there with me doing her stuff. DH put in a bunch of 4' daylight fluorescent lights so even if it's dark/winter outside its bright down there. I also like that I can leave everything in a heap if I need to (which happens a lot when you have a younger kid in the house) and close the door so it's completely out of sight.

I have a big room on my second floor. It's the main room of the space, which includes a little kitchen area with a sink, a full bath, and a guest bedroom. I use the kitchen cabinets to hold scrapbook stuff and I use the sink for rinsing brushes and cleaning stamps and stuff like that.
I have had my stuff up there for about 18 months. The light during the day is glorious. I just added an Ikea Hemnes dresser recently, and it's still mostly empty. I definitely have a lot of room to expand, although I sort of downsized when we moved here so I'm not on fire to get a bunch more stuff than what I have.
I have had a room just for scrapbooking before but by far this one has the most storage and space of the three or four I've had over the years. I took a long hiatus (all of 2015 other than a bit of card making) but I am back in business now and have made 7 or 8 layouts so far in 2016. The space is working pretty great. I just need to tweak a few things to get it to perfection (well, perfection for me).

I have been scrapbooking for 19 years and have had everything from the dining room to a tiny closet to the basement as we moved around. We now live in a smaller house on 10 acres, so I have a shed. I love having a big dedicated space, but I do miss being in the house. Except when everyone's home and tvs are going in every room, then I enjoy the quiet :-) Looking back, I think my favorite was the dining room, though I didn't realize it at the time. I could scrapbook and be a part of what was going on and interact with the family - I think I got more done.

My dedicated space is upstairs among the media/gameroom, library nook, guest room, & our child's bed/bath/playrooms, which means we're all on the same floor during free time. It's not ideal when I'm home alone, however, because I'm constantly going up & down the stairs.

Mine is in a spare bedroom with a bathroom nearby (for washing stuff when needed). I enjoy being tucked away. I need my alone time. However, when I want to be near the action, I bring my stuff to the dining table. It is close enough to the craft room, so no big deal.

I moved out of the kitchen, where I had to pack up all the time, to the 3rd bedroom when my son moved out. I love it! I have a day bed in there as well (for the rare guest) that I use as a sofa for TV watching and reading. The room is so cozy and comfy it just makes me feel good to be in there. I don't need to be "near the action" cuz my kids are grown. My DD is still at home though and she loves the room too. She comes up quite often to hang out with me.
