My ability to plan dinner disappeared this week. Once again, I'm clueless. I'm going to post my decision in a while. It's so much easier when I have a plan for the week. ETA: AHA. The decision is Gyoza and steamed rice.
What's on your menu?
Have a great Thursday everyone. Take some time to truly enjoy yourself doing something you love.

Hello scrapmaven. Hope you get some inspiration soon. We are having chicken pie using the meat left on the bird from yesterday's roast, with mashed potatoes and whatever veg I fancy doing at the time. Probably green beans and baby corn. I'll make enough pastry to do an apple pie for pudding tomorrow but tonight DH can find something in the fridge for dessert. I might make some carrot and lentil soup too, as the chicken carcass is simmering away in the stock pot and I prefer using it as soon as possible.

Mine too scrapmaven! I got some smoked salmon out of the freezer before I came to work and when I get home I'll decide what to do with it:grin: Still Dh's fault though - he's going to be late again tonight so what I couldn't do yesterday I can't do tonight either!

Mother Hubbard's cupboard is quite bare and I am just not sure. I am hellbent on cleaning out closets and crap, so I am knee deep in a project and going to the grocery store isn't not going to happen. I have a can of french cut green beans, a can of creamed corn ( Not even sure where that came from) and some potatoes. (I do have some left over black beans and rice, so the boy can eat that I guess.) Feeling like a shitty mom this week already, tonight's dinner isn't going to help with that.

I'm sure you 're not a bad mom, anxiousmom, slthough our teenagers sure make us feel like that sometimes. I made pork chops, mashed potatoes and veggies tonight. Had planned on making brownies for dessert, but that didn't happen....

I got a grill pan for Christmas (which I did ask for) that's still in the packaging. So I bought some sweet little filet mignons yesterday to christen it with. The 6yo will be with me so we're having the steaks and probably baked potatoes and I found cauliflower for only $1.99 at Trader Joe's yesterday, so that, too. Aside from that, I'll be eating chicken soup for pretty much the rest of the week.

My sons ask me every morning, "So, what's for dinner"? Today I had no answer so turned the question back on them. After suggesting Chik Fil A (and me shaking my heading no) my oldest recommended sub sandwiches. So toasted sub sandwiches with a side of chips, pickles and a fruit salad for dessert. I think I'm gonna have the kid plan out next week's dinner menu!

Dinner tonight is faux pizza. Pizza toppings on FlatOut wraps. I'm REALLY looking forward to it. LOL I haven't had anything even close to pizza in 6 weeks. I'll also have a side salad too.

He asked why we had no food. I had been to the grocery that day. I think the problem was either wrong chips or wrong ice cream. Make him some brownies, and maybe he won't mind leftovers. We're going out for dinner. I guess we could call it a "first date" celebration.

It's so much easier when I have a plan for the week. I feel lost when I don't have a plan. I took @carblover443's dh up on his challenge to make something from one of the dinner threads, so I'm doctoring up some canned spaghetti sauce, using ingredients bothmykidsrbrats posted recently and will serve it over pasta (duh). I'll roast brussels sprouts and carrots, make garlic bread (if I can find the roasted garlic in my disorganized freezer), slice some apples, and there's some of the mocha dessert left from last night. I can't wait for other fruits to be in-season. I'm getting so tired of apples and grapes. *sigh*

I'm making smoked sausage with potatoes and peppers. I'll add a few banana pepper rings to mine. It's really a shame when some of the banana pepper juice drips on other parts of the pan and then no one but me will eat it.

He's not going to look back and think about all of those 5 course dinners he didn't eat. On the contrary, the love you give him, that you're there for him and support him are what's important. He's not starving. You're doing just fine. Stop beating yourself up.

Tonight we are taking our lives into our own hands and going rollerskating with dh's real estate brokerage firm That is to say that dh and the dd's will be rollerskating and I will be watching ... I don't do potentially bone breaking activities We'll be eating whatever food they serve at the roller rink ... I don't have high hopes

It's a toss up. Chicken stir fry with fried rice and egg rolls OR pioneer woman's sunday stew over mashed potatoes with green beans.

Last night was a bust. I got home several hours later than I'd planned, so en route I stopped and picked up take-out from a local burrito place. Last night was the 2nd time I'd planned on making the parsnip soup, fingers crossed third time's a charm, which sadly, won't be tonight. I have a late vet appointment for my wonderful senior girl (I've got a horrible feeling it might not be a good news appointment); therefore, it's a quick-easy-no-need-to-think-dinner. I've got beef enchilada casserole defrosting in the fridge and I'll throw together some sort of salad.

I think I am going to try to make beef stroganoff.
Yesterday I ended up making pancakes and eggs for dinner, not exactly the seafood delight I had thought about earlier in the day!!
I guess I will need to get to the store and buy what I need for tonight's dinner or we may have round two of pancakes!

Well, the Super Bowl leftovers are just about done, but I have a work dinner tonight. So I don't know what the rest of the fam is having but I'm having some steak and seafood. I do have some mammoth carrots from my bountiful basket last Saturday that we need to do something with. I'm not much of a carrot fan. Don't hate them but don't like them. Maybe I will go google a carrot cake recipe. That I can do!

I have some boneless top sirloin steak that I am going to just cook with salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder. I will feed that to the kids with sides - likely a salad and maybe baked potatoes. Since I am not eating meat, I don't know what I will be eating. But I know that my kids will be really happy! Lisa
