Hi all knowing Peas, We have a top loading washing machine and I was noticing that the water in the house wasn't getting warm enough (anywhere) and to be washing in what I thought was "warm water". I had my dad come and fix the water temperature because when I do towels and things I want to use really warm water. We never seem to turn down the water, but every so often have to turn it up.
If you have a front loader, how would you know if your water was warm enough as our water temperature tends to vary throughout the year. You can't obviously open the door once the washing cycle has started. How do you know how warm the water is?
Thanks. If this sounds dumb believe me I can't put two thoughts to together to get a clear idea in my head. I am considering a new washer and this is why I am asking.

I wash everything on cold except towels and have a top loader that I have never ever checked the water temp.

I am cleaning up a lot of dog messes and (he is old) and I like to wash in hot when I do so. (I scrub a lot of carpet so I wash in hot-boil the rags I use and use bleach because well I am just like that.)
