I have several photos of my kids at a Harry Potter photo op last summer. You know you take your own photos in front of cardboard cut outs. I'm kind of stumped about how to scrap them... The photos have a lot of gray, tan and a tiny bit of maroon/purple. I posted two photos (there are more of my other kids in front of the same displays) on my blog: fixed link. I scoured my stash and came up with 5 Harry Potter stickers, two tags from Harry Potter clothing items that I saved, and I don't own a single maroon anything... I don't want to use the colors of what my kids were wearing because... well I let them pick their own outfits that day and pink stripes, plaid shorts and t-shirts with a sunflowers on it don't really say "Harry Potter" to me... Any ideas? I guess I could reprint the photos in black and white, but other than that I'm stumped... Thanks for any ideas!

And if you have grey cs and sort of maroon/purple ink, you could matt the photos on the grey and edge with the ink, then put the whole thing on black.
Other diecuts or files that might work are witches' brooms, dragons,...
Good luck! This sounds like a fun project!

I am working on a HP album today. I bought some paper from Scrap Your Trip and went to my LSS. If you go to Dafont, you can download the Harry P (exact name) font to make a cool title. They also have a Harry Potter dingbat font that is of all of the characters. I also found a train on Silhouette and made it large (cut off the back so it is only the front) and put it on a page. I bought a bunch of images of HP on Silhouette before they took them off.

Can you pull a color scheme from the 5 stickers or clothing tags that you have? I would think grey would work, and I like the idea of the lightning bolt Grammadee mentioned! If you feel like you need the maroon/purple color, you could probably pick up a single sheet of cardstock for cheap at one of the big box stores. I think I saw that Joann's has all their paper on sale this week. Do you have any gold or silver mists or embellishments? Those might be fun... Sounds like a fun thing to scrap!

Was it the 50% off or 6/8 for $1 sale?

I would use a couple different shades of gray and maybe accent with the maroon...all cardstock and cut out a snazzy title with the Harry Potter font mentioned above. I wouldn't use a ton of embellishments, if I used any at all.

I keep putting off stocking up on cardstock, hoping that sale will come around again!

Thanks for the ideas, I will look for that font. The stickers are purple and shiny (and I have no idea where they came from they are old, like 1999-2000 pre-scrapbooking old. I was thinking maybe of doing the pages in the house colors that each kid picked from the sorting hat, I think one was Slytherin and the other two picked Gryffindor (green and silver and red and gold). Of course I do not own anything silver or gold (I am behind that trend). My Silhouette subscription just expired and I don't own a lightning bolt shape... but I do have Design Studio so maybe I can make my own. According to google M's sells a Harry Potter scrapbook kit, at least their online store does...I might need that with 3 Harry Potter fans in the house... Anyway, thanks for the ideas, I knew the pea scrappers would have ideas

My Silhouette subscription just expired and I don't own a lightning bolt shape... It is so so so easy to make your own from the right picture, usually on google images! Here are google image search results for lightning bolt. Just choose the one you want, use your silhouette software to trace the lightning bolt, keep the trace lines, remove the picture, and BOOM. Lightning bolt shape!

I would scrap with grey white silver and maroon with maybe a little pink as a tie between the maroon and the silver Or...just choose a Harry Potter house and go with that..eg. Maroon and gold for gryffindor etc
