Elannah, so proud of you! Be gentle with yourself, take it slow, listen to your body but also encourage yourself to keep going. I too go through spurts where I struggle to get my fat ass anywhere! In winter it is so hard because it is so cold, days are short and I just want to hibernate. I always feel better when I get out and exercise. Yeah, well my fat ass is getting fatter. BUT today I took the first few steps to deal with it. It needs to get under control. I had trouble rolling out of bed because of its weight (or I need a chiropractic adjustment). I did a 20 min yoga class online, too. I got really dizzy so I had to stop. I will try again tomorrow. It did feel good. I just have to keep the motivation up.

Delta Dawn I was thinking about you when I was in spin class last night you mentioned that you are really competitive what about starting a martial arts program where you can measure your progress through belt tests? You'll be learning new skills instead of relying on metrics like how far/how fast/how many? I was thinking that might be my next step if the gym doesn't help. I remember a few classmates taking from this psychotic martial arts teacher when we were in high school and they came to school the next day covered in bruises head to toe. These weren't wimps like me! They were strong guys and they were all bruised. One of my friends had me put my cold hands on his arms to deal with the pain. I don't know the whole story, but it was awful. That makes me kind of "scared" of karate, taekwondo and other martial arts. You didn't see their arms. I couldn't see their legs as it was winter, but I remember the bruises. (Their karate instructor had his girlfriend who was age 14 move in with him, too. I know this as her mother was a bestie of my mom, she was a friend of mine and the guy was a bit nutso). This has always sort of scared me of karate anyway.

Well good for you ...really...you are doing more then I have been of late, my own fault What is Vyvanase , I have the problem of always feeling tired and no energy and blood work came back fine... Vyvanse is www.drugs.com/vyvanse.html which is an amphetamine and a drug used to treat ADHD. One way you might get more energy is by doing more. It works like that (despite what I display). The more active you are, the more energy you have, the more energy you have the more active you can become. Are you able to exercise in the middle of winter where you are? Here it is balmy and about 10C and will probably get up to 12 or more. I wore a hoodie to the gym at 7 and it was already nice out. If it isn't too bad, I would try taking a walk outside to begin with. If the road is snowy than maybe not. Do you have a recreation centre near you? Do they have treadmills? You don't have to run or anything like that. What you need is a pair of running shoes (tennis shoes) or SAS kind of walking shoes. Lace up and get on. You don't need to do it for an hour by any means. I mean I did 20 minutes this morning. Start slowly, do 15 minutes and then a cool down. Do that 3x week and you should see results quickly. Your energy will pick up and after a while (I don't know how long as you are different from me of course) you will crave exercise. I know. I just wrote that, but in my past I was a total gym rat. I used to love the treadmill and go fast, stronger and steeper. Just go 3x week or maybe you have one at home? Just do it for 15 minutes slowly to start and build on that. In the summer it is great to get out for walks, but for now it is February and just try. That's all I am doing. If it works, GREAT. If it doesn't, then I tried. Good luck! PS Keep posting the link to the animal feeding site every day ok?

You are so sweet and yes I will keep posting on the animals as long as God has me here on earth, if you don't see it any more some one please keep posting for them..that said...
I am 50 pounds overweight and I use to go to the gym and the treadmill was my machine of choice, walking and running then I started to have pain in my right foot. still kept going til i could no longer walk...shame on me...went to the foot doctor and have plantar fasciitis and after 2 years and with me getting better shoes and realize not to push myself I can walk again...
I have a treadmill that became a work of art down there ...we have about 5 inches of snow this morning but I went out and took the camera and I do feel better when I am walking ...
It is just me that stopped me...and I know at 67 I have to get the weight off and get moving again ...I feed not only my fat, energy but the depression by not moving.
You make me feel better in just what you said to me on here...we live in the country and I live on a dead end road, great road to go up and down on, no real traffic so when the weather does break I am going back out there.
Now I need to dust off the treadmill and thanks to you I will start out slow and just go for moving again. When I was walking I did feel better...thank you, honey you are a good pill to be taking...post any time to kick me in my rear and tell me to move is just what I need...by the way I take 6 blood pressure pills and if weight goes down I may be able to get off some of them as well...hugs

gailoh I am no skinny mini either anymore. My BFF told me I starved myself into anorexia at one time. I thought I looked good. I am now at least 50-60 lbs overweight. Yeah, it's not attractive on a short woman. I have plenty of problems to fix but one at a time. I have to get my mental health normal again and my physical health back on track. I used to sleep at the gym. I am just going to try going 3x week. I am not a marathon runner. Heck I am not even a fridge runner. I am just taking it slowly. I don't have any answers let along all the answers. What will work for me might not work for you. I just know what works for me. I should probably get some more housework done today. I did 3 loads of more laundry and I did one bathroom. I have another bathroom to do and then errands. I am able to focus now which is nice. I haven't had a lot of sleep so I am hoping to stay calm and happy for the rest of the day and fall asleep at a reasonable hour. I haven't been tired until 2 am and then I am up at 6 or 7. Yesterday I woke up and I was stabby. I was mad at everyone, and it was suggested by all that I go and get some more sleep. Good move. I felt better for the rest of the day. Good luck Gail. You can do this. Remember you have to get in shape to get in shape. You aren't in the same condition you were 3 years ago (and neither am I) so we will do this slowly but surely and feel good along the way! xox
