I think I'm alone on my bench because I just don't like Daniel Craig as Bond at all. I'm going to go hide now. I think that's probably best

I completely understand where he is coming from. Bond has been very good to him but he can't always take other roles he may want to explore. As a creative person, I can see how easy it is to get burned out. If I had to make the same scrapbook layout or handmade card year after year after year, I would get frustrated too! I'm happy to see the franchise handed off to someone else.

I can't believe that's it gotten this far without being said, but this thread is useless without pictures!

BC .....I just do not get the appeal at all and Mr Redmayne is lovely but too...pretty in a way, for me.

No need to bite the hand that fed him and his career quite so nicely.

I picture him, naked, sitting in that chair being flogged in the first Bond movie he was in.

Ok this will be blasphemy to y'all but I didn't really care for Daniel Craig as Bond. Nothing against him really, in fact I think it's more the direction the movies have taken lately. I'll admit to totally being a Roger Moore/Sean Connery bond aficionado though. Honestly I was sort of excited when the mentioned Idris Elba last year because I think the whole Bond movie franchise could use a little shaking up. If we are going to switch Bonds periodically to continue the series then hell yes lets switch it up.
I didn't really like Casino Royale. I didn't really like quantum of Solace. I hated Skyfall and I didn't watch Spectre ( yet, I'm sure I'll get around to it) So I guess he isn't a Bond I'll fight over. LOL
Though I can't really say it's him I haven't enjoyed I just think the movie franchise is missing 'something' that it used to have? Or I've lost interest in Bond altogether?

If memory serves, when he did press for his most recent Bond movie release, he said he'd rather slit his wrists or kill himself before doing another Bond movie. This really soured me on him. Like someone else said, just bow out gracefully if you're done. edited to add: here's a link. variety.com/2015/film/news/daniel-craig-james-bond-25-1201612654/Sorry to those that love him, but his entitled and ungrateful attitude really bothers me.

I'm more of the working class type guy than one that seems like too much maintenance. I like him as an actor, but not so much for that role.

haven't read many responses but good for him... get out before you become typecast or part of a sinking ship... not saying either will happen but it is possible. i like him... i like the vibe he brought to james bond but am cool with someone else taking over the gig.

I too was a skeptic regarding him playing Bond but he's been fantastic...some of the very best Bond movies. And I loved Sean C. Last fall I read where he had severally wrecked his knee in the last movie and it had taken six months to heal. It was one of the reasons he gave for not wanting to continue. Those movies are physically very demanding. If only Mathew McConahey...sure I spelled that wrong...could acquire a British accent...he would be perfect...I love his car commercials.

I think Idris Elba would make a great Bond. As well as having the perfect look (and body, let's not forget that body ) he's also a fabulous actor. Or my other top choice would be Gerard Butler. He has that hint of menace, a great body, and of course, a Scottish accent!
