I thought I had heard this a while ago. The last movie he did was going to be his last and he hated playing Bond... Or am I dreaming that... LOL

I read somewhere that he didn't like playing Bond. But good heavens, he is (in my dirty little mind) the perfect Bond. *swoon*
They will have to work hard to find another very most perfect Bond.

LOL I thought I'd heard that there was one more film tied up but apparently not. The article I read says he's going to play a Julian Assange-type figure in an adaptation of Jonathon Franzen's novel Purity.

I can't get excited about any of the possible replacements mentioned so far apart from Idris Elba possibly.....Damien Lewis and Tom Hardy do nothing for me

How many Bond movies has he made?
He "hated playing Bond?" I'm shocked.

4. I have heard before that he hated it but he denied it when interviewed - although he would wouldn't he, probably

LOL There was definitely talk about it last fall when bookies started putting odds on who would be the next Bond. I guess they were just speculating, but I thought Craig had said he was out. Idris Elba, Tom Hardy, Michael Fassbender and Henry Cavill were the top picks then.

The plot thickens! Daniel Craig's representative has just told the BBC that no decision has yet been made in spite of the reports by some newspapers.

I suppose I could get behind Mr. Elba I could get in to any number of positions with Mr Elba but I'm not seeing him as Bond. The films are just so blah to me that I'd rather see him in anything else.

Looks like it gar, for the time being at least until he reaches a decision. The reps statement has gone on to Entertainment Live on the BBC website anyway.

I just watched Spectre yesterday, and could totally see that as a walk away from Bond for both the franchise and Daniel Craig. Maybe they will restart the 00 program a la Bourne Legacy? Idris Elba would fit right in. But, if the want somebody with a bit of humor,(more like Pierce Brosnan) maybe Matthew Goode would be a good fit. Thinking of Brosnan, how about Jamie Dornan?

I just watched 'Beasts of No Nation' the other day and I was SO impressed with his acting. Holy cow, that movie still is on my mind.

Thinking of Brosnan, how about Jamie Dornan? There's nothing sexy about either of them for me. I'm trying to think who I would replace him with ......it could take some time

I remember he got a lot of stick from the media when he was announced as the new Bond because he was blonde. If and when they replace him I bet his replacement will have to put up with similiar judgement.

If you are interested in his viewpoint, you really should listen to his interview on the Nerdist podcast from last year. He talks about why he has been perceived as hating media, etc. of course, it could all be for show, but I really enjoyed the interview.

I agree wellway and Idris Elba himself said in an interview with the Daily Telegraph just before Christmas that it had already started with him and he hadn't even been selected to play Bond!

If and when they replace him I bet his replacement will have to put up with similiar judgement. I remember this too. In fact, it wasn't just from the media. It seemed he wasn't a popular choice because he looked so different from previous Bonds. I was happy with the choice back then because he is definitely my type. He certainly has won people over, which I am glad for. But I think you are right that the next choice will be judged initially (it's human nature to compare) but hopefully he will grow into his role and win people over in a similar fashion.

I like Daniel Craig as Bond. He's my #2 after Sean Connery. However, I thought Spectre was just awful.

Sean Connery and Roger Moore were my Bond guys. Any man that can say Octopussy with that sexy smile is golden. I am willing to at least give Henry Cavill a try. I got hooked on the Tudors in two minutes because of Henry.
