I own one Mister Huey's mist, and picked up a Heidi Swapp one on clearance yesterday.
So I kind of having fun messing with them but don't get the difference in all the types of liquid you can put on a page... except Stickles, I get that one.
How are you supposed to know what something is going to look like from looking at a bottle online? Maybe the craft store should have a spray person, like a perfume person only with mists so you can see the difference...
So are there any differences between Dylusions and Mister Huey's? Glimmer mist and Colorshine? Any tricks to using these things?
Also What is your preferred brand and why?
Thanks,
An overwhelmed scrapper.

I am proof that you don't really need to know a lot in order to collect a lot of sprays. I think which ones you buy would depend on what kind of effect you like. Do you want lots of color? Tim Holtz distress stains and Dylusions stains have vibrant color, but because they don't have any mica bits in them there is no glitter or shine. If the colors are too bright for you, you can water them down or spritz over them with "Picket Fence" which is white. Do you like sparkle and shine? Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists have less color and more sparkle. I find them lighter in general than the color on the label or the cap. Ranger Perfect Pearls mists are also very glimmer, but their colors are VERY light. With the glimmer sprays, you need to be careful to wash out the nozzle after each use, because if those mica bits get lodged in the nozzle it will clog and is really hard if not impossible to get going again. Do you like splotches and spatters? Prima Color Bloom sprays seem to have more of a paint like consistency, and are great if you like artsy splotches on your page. Their special nozzles are billed as non cloggable, but I have managed to get one of mine clogged up. I haven't used many Mr Huey's sprays, except for their white which I really like. Good luck with your spray adventure! I look forward to seeing what people who really DO know what they are talking about respond

I'm not particularly trendy, but I may be able to help.
-Dylusions are known for being super intense color (no shine if I remember correctly) -Mister Huey's is Studio Calico's brand. Also without shine. Not as over saturated as Dylusions. -Glimmer Mist is shiny, but also tends to be a bit softer with the color application. You have to be careful how you shake their product up because you can clog up the nozzle easily -Colorshine is very shimmery and the colors are a bit more saturated than glimmer mist, but not anywhere near as saturated as Dylusions. Lots of pretty colors - probably the most trendy in terms of color selection. The gold is my all time favorite.

If you want a white mist which looks pretty splattered on colored cardstocks, get the Dylusions one. It's bright white and dries fast.
I had a Tattered Angels mist in Sugar Cookie that was the perfect warm glow to add to die cuts and cards. I wish they hadn't discontinued it. I haven't found a comparable mist yet!

As others have explained the difference quite well. I'll just add a couple of unmentions:
Ranger Adirondack Sprays are intense color (no glimmer) and they are also fabric safe. Intense color. Lindy Stamp Gang makes Flat Fabio Sprays with no glimmer that I believe are also color safe. Intense color Lindy Stamp Gang makes Starburst Sprays with glimmer. (haven't tried).
The first 2 and Dylusionals are my favorites to use because they are truer to the color on the bottle and the color is intense. But the number 1 reason - I've never had a clogged sprayer!!!!! I tend to just add some pearl ex (or mica powder) to get the glimmer, although I do have quite the collection of Glimmer mist. Unfortunately, I put bb's into the bottle (heard it helpd to not get clogs) and the bb's discolored the ink. So don't do that.

Oh I forgot Lindy's. Their moon shadow line has glimmer plus a delightful two tone look.

Thanks for all the mist explanations everyone! I am terrible with the mists. I usually spray too close to my piece and end up with a big solid splotch. I find I am much better at the droplet technique than the spray technique.

Here is a glitter girl episode where she talks about mists. it's older so it may not include everything but it's a nice starting spot.
