I went to my Primary care doc yesterday.
We are trying to get my back pain under control. Next month will be 3 years since I injured my back. I have been dealing with so many doctors and no body has figured out how to get the pain to go away. even a little bit would be nice. I can't take narcotics long term. for like a surgery or something short term I can tolerate some but most of them make me sick. I have been using a gel for way too many months and it has stopped working. It didn't really work that great in the first place. Now my doctor wants to put me on a lidocane patch that will numb my back kinda like novacane does when you get your teeth pulled. We are not sure if this is the way to go or not but I can't handle the pain. Can't have the steroid injections into the joints like I really need to heal this issue because of the blood thinners and I can't be taken off blood thinners because of my afib and the chance of clots. It is a never ending cycle of shit.
After taking the new migraine meds for a month and noticing how bad of a reaction to the word disconnect side affect I have on it I have chosen to go off of it and try another one. I also will be adding 2 other ones to my list of meds. I good thing is I have lost 13 pounds on the meds I had taken this month(I stopped advo care for the month to see what the pill did)
Started back on advo care this morning. Hopefully my energy wil come back a little. not that I had a whole lot to begin with.
I am going to go in for another try for another MRI this time she ordered Xanax or Valume.

My dad had a stimulator implanted in his back because the pain was so bad. He was also on blood thinners for heart issues and they bridges with lovenox shots for the actual surgery.
The stimulator levels can be adjusted based on his pain level each day. It's been a wonderful thing for him.

Have you tried a TENS unit? I have had chronic neck and back pain since a car accident over four years ago. I use TENS 12-14 hours a day in combination with ibuprofen and tylenol. I was able to stop the four other pain meds three years ago. TENS is a lifesaver and makes it possible for me to work. The other 10-12 hours a day I use heat. Good luck to you!

Have you tried all the suggestions above? It may be that you have and they didn't work.
May I ask which migraine medicine caused this problem for you? I just started a new preventive med. I don't know if what you mean about word disconnect is what I'm experiencing.
I feel for you. It is very hard to live in chronic pain. Sending you gentle hugs.

Have you tried any lifestyle changes such as elimination diet to see if you can reduce the overall inflammation in your body and promote healing? Are there functional medicine doctors in your area that you could consult with?

I have degenerative disc disease and I use a TENS unit and it really helps! I like it because there's no side effects like there is with pain meds. I hope you find some relief soon!
