naby64 I just received my replacement Hampton Arts penguin stamp set in the mail. I haven't tried it yet to see if it works (I will, hopefully, later today or tonight) Did you get yours? ETA: I tried it and it works beautifully! Comparing the original with the replacement, you can definitely see how oversized the first ones were.

Gosh, I forgot to get on here and update. YES! I had a package on Saturday I think. I knew that all of my online orders had been received and I have forgotten about this. As soon as I saw HA, I remembered the die/stamp set. I have not tried mine. We have a new puppy in the house and he seems to be taking up all of my spare time. Darn good thing he is cute. I hope to be able to try it out tonight. I will make sure to let you know how it works.

I have not had time to even take mine out of the envelope!! Glad to know that when winter rolls around again, I can make cute Penguin cards. Now, I have an odd question. My envelope came with a note written on it for postage due. The postage marked was either 92 or 98 cents. The handwritten amt says "postage due $1.56" . There is no way that should cost that amount. I have been meaning to bring it up to the office and weigh it on my machine up here and see what it says. Just wondered if you happened to notice your amount.

The postage marked was either 92 or 98 cents. That was the amount (something in the nineties, I remember) on the postage on the small padded manila envelope mine was mailed in. I didn't have a postage due note. Did you have to pay postage due, or there was just a note written on the envelope? No way would I pay postage for that.

Sounds like your package accidentally slipped through when it actually should have been held hostage at the po until you came to pay the amount due. They will usually leave you a note letting you know that there was postage due and how long you have to pay it before sending it back to the sender. Sometimes mail carriers will leave an envelope for you to place the money in and collect it the next day, kind of like an honor system. Sometimes if it's just a few cents your postman might go ahead and pay out of his pocket.

Sometimes mail carriers will leave an envelope for you to place the money in and collect it the next day, kind of like an honor system. Sometimes if it's just a few cents your postman might go ahead and pay out of his pocket. Every PO is different. Some will nitpick, others don't say anything. I had store bought dimensional Christmas cards arrive down the street with $2 due on them (wha?!) and others across the country arrive with no postage due. Then I had a package a couple of years ago from my grandparents that was POSTED AT THE POST OFFICE arrive and the postman said I had to pay like $10 on it, which made zero sense...I say if it's posted at the PO and it's wrong, they should eat the cost as it was their error and not the family member who shipped it to me nor was it mine. However, if a package arrives with postage due and they don't knock on your door asking for the money, the carriers will cover it (or so I've been told by one in the past, sometimes it's literally pennies) or it just gets written off, which is more likely the case. I think in those instances, it might be the carrier's discretion since they are collecting cash only.
