Just had to shout this as loud as I could!!!!! Dh took little dd to a make up class for something she is missing on the weekend while I stayed home to open the door for older dd when she comes home from dance. That means home alone from 5-8pm. While this is totally unusual, and my little dd will be exhausted tomorrow and I'll have to deal with that, i'm really enjoying these hours to myself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've read my novel, made muffins, leisurely made the dinner of my choice, and now I'm thinking of watching American Idol or Say Yes To The Dress on my PVR. It's really nice Paige.

I love those times. For 13 years I would go home for lunch. All by my self to watch Days with out ridicule. I miss that.

My husband and I are both retired but work part time. I love Tuesdays and Thursdays when he teaches at the college. He doesn't get it when I say I like to be alone. What? I still have the dogs, but they are a bonus.

I love DH, but I do enjoy a home alone night or weekend. I buy him MN Wild tickets so he can take DD...they know why I do it!

I have 3 hours a day Monday-Friday (except Wednesdays are a bit shorter) when I don't have kids at home. I thought I would get bored within a few months. So far, so good! I do things like sleep or take a shower. It really gives me sanity to cope with the rest of the day. Summers are the worst! Yes, I said that out loud.

I was alone for 2 whole days last weekend and I enjoyed every stinking second of it!!
My mil called a couple of times to invite me over for this or that because she thought I would be sad and lonely.
I declined her offers!
I watched a lot of tv, did laundry, cleaned and went shopping. I had an absolute blast!
Enjoy your time alone!

After my oldest son was born (3 months old) my husband decided he wanted to take him back to his hometown for a family reunion. I had a two week class. The morning they left, my class was canceled. Best week ever. I really needed sleep. He had colic the first three months and I was almost out of my mind. My MIL kept saying I should drive out and join them. I declined.
