Tonight I'm going to make PW's chicken and noodles. It's going to be one of those cozy, restful days. So, I'll make comfort food for dinner.
What's on your menu?
Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone.

scrapmaven - a cozy restful day sounds wonderful!!! enjoy!
I think I am going to make fried rice, spicy sesame chicken potstickers (I made these a while ago and froze them), and some stir fried vegetables.

I'm hoping for a cozy day too! It's warmer, and our surprise snow is melting.
We're having leftovers tonight. I need to clear the refrigerator before going to the grocery tomorrow.

Well, we did not even have time for leftovers last night before DS had to be at school for the band concert, so we ended up with quick sandwiches. Thus, tonight will be leftovers of the Hawaiian Chicken that I made on Monday. This was a new recipe, and frankly, it wasn't that great, so I'll be happy to get rid of the leftovers and maybe figure out how I can tweak the recipe to make it better. I've also got a head of broccoli in the fridge so I'll make that to go with the chicken.

I'm trying a new recipe tonight. The rain and wind are back so I wanted something on the comforting side. We're going to try out lasagna soup. Will have some sliced sourdough bread to go with it. Lasagna soup

Venison meatloaf with Barefoot Contessa's beef recipe, some kind of potatoes, more leftover veggie soup, and canned green LeSeur peas, a must with meatloaf around here.
I do want to buy some cabbage and make those "steaks" that Sharla (and others) have posted. We like cabbage, but not the mess of cutting it up. Maybe tomorrow.
Thanks for the thread.

It's the 6yo and me tonight, so I'm going to try again with the filet mignon and baked potatoes (and some kind of veggie). We won't get home from tae kwon do till 6:45, but I can put that dinner together fairly quickly.
BTW, the 6yo will turn 7 in less than a month. I've had him off and on since he was 3.5. My baby is growing up on me! He lost his two front teeth, but one of them is already growing in. arrggh

I'm going to convert some leftovers into chicken enchiladas. Not sure what I'll serve as a go with.

Children sure grow up quickly, don't they lucyg? Sigh. I have such mixed emotions - life is so hectic, but I enjoy it. I have some chicken breasts in there that need to be cooked. I think I might make chicken with paprika with half of it and boil the rest of it to shred and freeze for later. I finally made my cream of broccoli soup last night. It was delicious - I ate one bowl and then had a second with some cheese tossed in. Lisa

I feel you lucyg! My "baby" is turning 14 next week. As for dinner? My husband is working late so it's just me and my boys. I'm having a salad and they are fending for themselves. So, YAY, no cooking tonight.

We're having some sort of stir-fry. I have a lot of veggies to use up.
And I might try making cauliflower rice instead of regular rice. Has anyone ever successfully made cauliflower rice? Any tips?

People need to dine-and-dash here tonight, so we're having sloppy joes, roasted potatoes, and applesauce.

My girls have a soccer game right in the middle of dinner time (only one girl is playing though). So I've already made dinner - or prepped, I guess. I cut lettuce all cut up and ready to go for salads topped with grilled chicken. I also made homemade wheat dinner rolls to go with it. We haven't had any fresh bread or rolls in 6 weeks so it'll be a real treat.

It's early evening here and we have had rain all day so very soon dinner is going to be roast chicken, baked potato with sour cream and cheese followed by individual serving sizes Pavlova for dessert. ETA: Oh gosh, time flies - it doesn't seem five minutes since you were talking about the six year old birthday lucyg!

I have to take my Mum to a doctor's appointment downtown this afternoon ... the doctor always runs late so we're probably going to be driving home during rush hour(s) That means that I won't have much time to prep dinner because I won't be here I'm thinking that we'll stop and pick up a couple of rotisserie chickens and some salads ... no cooking

Thanks to the kids being off this week for Ski Week and camp not starting until 9am, I've got 1.5 hours of extra time each morning. This morning I made a lentil and black bean chili for dinner tonight, I'll probably make cornbread to go with it and possibly roast some parsnips.

Homemade chicken pot pies. I made the chicken yesterday in the crockpot and shredded it. So I just have to throw everything in the pot, then portion out and let them bake.

I found some (old) chicken in the freezer, and after marinating it, it turned out pretty good. Leftover veggies from yesterday, and ovenbaked potato slices. Raspberries, whipped cream and cookie crumbs for dessert (yes, I'm on a quest to empty the freezer!)

My friend has. She uses a food processor to finely chop it. She does several headsbat once and freezes portions. She says it comes out better when frozen a bit.

WHAT is this?? Asking because Suet is something we put out for the birds..... It's used as a fat in traditional British cooking to make jam roly poly, spotted dick and dumplings. The brand over here is Atora
